Shooting victim still in serious condition
A Hot Springs man remained in serious condition at a local hospital Monday after being shot “multiple times” in the torso over the weekend, according to Hot Springs police.
Police responded to 311 Linwood Ave. at around 8:37 p.m. Saturday night in reference to a possible shooting and found Michael White, 34, of Hot Springs lying in the driveway of 309 Linwood Ave. with gunshot wounds, a news release said.
LifeNet responded to the scene and transported White to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, where he later underwent surgery.
When officers arrived on scene, they gathered information about a possible person of interest and possible vehicle of interest, according to the release.
That vehicle was later stopped by the Garland County Sheriff’s Department and Arkansas State Police at the Shell Station at 3039 Albert Pike Road, Hot Springs police Cpl. Kirk Zaner said Sunday.
Garland County sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Hecke on Monday confirmed the possible vehicle of interest was a black Dodge Charger.
“As of right now, (the vehicle) is part of the investigation, but no arrests have been made,” Zaner said.
Detectives with the Hot Springs Police Department are still working to gather evidence and interview witnesses, the news release said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Hot Springs Police Department at 501-321-6789.
