Arvis L. Vaughn

-

Arvis Len Vaughn, 68, of Hot Springs, passed away Aug. 21, 2017.

Arvis was born in Hot Springs to the late Cecil and Loretha Hendershot Vaughn.

A lifetime member of the NRA, Arvis loved hunting, camping and observing wildlife in the quiet calm of the woods. He also looked forward to an annual fishing retreat where his catch was often much more than anyone could eat.

Arvis’ military career started during the Vietnam War and he retired after proudly serving in the military for over 20 years.

A dedicated member of the Moose Lodge, Arvis lived by the saying, “A burden heavy to one is borne lightly by many,” which is the core of the Moose organization. Arvis believed, like the Moose Community, that celebrating life together and serving those in need within our local community are what is most important. He attained the Moose’s highest honor, the Pilgrim Degree.

Missing Arvis the most will be his children, Dustin (Rebecca) Vaughn and Monica (Gabe) Sconzert; grandchildren Ashlyn Vaughn, Alex Vaughn, Hannah Vaughn, Ethan Sconzert and Ryder Sconzert; and his sister, Debbie Woolridge.

Arvis will be meeting his brothers, Wayne and Dale Vaughn, in Heaven for some glorious fishing.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of Arvis Vaughn to the Wounded Warrior Project at 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.

A gathering with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, in Gross Funeral Home chapel.

Online guestbook and tributes are available at http://www.GrossFuneralHome.com.
