An uncensored opinion

-

Dear editor:

Wow! After reading Sunday’s paper, I see you will print almost anything. For months now there has been an ongoing, sickening, vitriol and hatred from the likes of Michael Gerson, Eugene Robinson and other Washington Post hacks, including Jonathan Lemire, Julie Pace and Catherine Rampell. Then there’s the letters to the editor writers like George Lindholm, Bill Wiedmann, Judith Zitko, Steven Orr Manning and Mike Nunn. Many of these abortion and LGBT proponents quote Jesus like he’s behind their positions. Since these writers have free license in print, surely my letter to the editor won’t be censored.

I was shocked by the things I read, but one stood out. A letter to the editor writer basically said that wealth transfer was an American duty and right. Wow, again! Talk about freeloaders! That is basically socialism. Hopefully the writer has at least “practiced what he preached.” But if he has to date been hypocritical and is all talk but no action, then he can begin his wealth transfer to me. I need money to pay my taxes. Usually, though, it’s someone else’s money they want transferred, not theirs.

It’s politics that’s killing us, folks. The Republicans brought us Reconstruction (which should have been called Deconstruction), war, genocide (ask any Native American) and now political correctness. The Democrats brought us Jim Crow, welfare entitlements, abortion, homosexual militancy and now history cleansing.

As to the city leaders stopping violence, it would be nice if they could focus on other areas besides downtown. Never underestimate the power of the almighty tourist dollar! Alter I got off work last Saturday, I drove downtown and what I saw was lots of police (taxpayer funded), and mostly the above mentioned freeloaders, i.e. young people in groups, professional demonstrators, government employees and the “clergy,” all living off the working man. Me? I had to work. What happens when all the old white racist male taxpayers’ are beat down? Who’s gonna fund all this political junk?

If ya’ll take the statue down, whether under cover of darkness, by city order or by violent protesting, it’s gonna be the last straw for many. Does the left actually believe the right is feeble and inept? We are the working, taxpaying, God-fearing silent majority of this country, this county, this city! Don’t awaken this sleeping giant! If you must vent, take down those ridiculous “Boyhood home of Bill Clinton” signs. Not only are they outdated, but Clinton is a disgrace to our entire state.

Editor, sir, if you don’t print this, your readers won’t have the opportunity to endlessly rebut. But it may be just as well, because I am through reading this paper and its horrific written ideologies. Cancel my subscription to your liberal rag, and be ready for more and more like me, until all you have left is “alt-left” readers. Hopefully some of them have real jobs so they can fund their shameful rebuttals and your Washington Post fake news. Tony O’Bryan Hot Springs
