Lake Hamilton plans second Movie Night

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

PEARCY — The Lake Hamilton Alumni Association will host its second annual movie night event Friday to kick off the school year and football season.

Lake Hamilton Family Movie Night at Wolf Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. All Lake Hamilton students, families and community members are welcome to attend.

Parking will be available in the visitor side parking lot. The gate will open at 7 p.m.

“I am so excited that we are hosting the second annual movie night at Lake Hamilton,” said Brian Bridges,

Lake Hamilton School District communications coordinator and Lake Hamilton Alumni Association member. “It is such a great way to begin the school year! The weather is looking great for Friday night. Last year, we had lots of success and positive reviews of our family movie night, we decided to make it a back to school tradition at Lake Hamilton.

“It is just another way we are able to bring our community together to enjoy our amazing facilities at the school. The community has supported the district through our millage campaign and I always love when we get to bring our community together to see some of the things the millage helped provide our students.”

Disney’s 2017 live action remake of “Beauty and the Beast” will be shown on the stadium’s video screen. The movie was selected over Pixar’s 2016 sequel, “Finding Dory,” by a vote of 21871.

Admission is a monetary donation to the Lake Hamilton Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to Lake Hamilton High School graduating seniors each year.

First Security Bank of Hot Springs paid for the group showing license from Swank Motion Pictures. The donation will allow all funds from admission contributions to benefit the scholarship fund.

Guests are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs. No outside food or drinks will be permitted inside the stadium. No balls, toys, Frisbees and similar items will be permitted.

Bridges said lines were backed up for Flossie’s food truck during the 2016 movie night. Separate concession lines will be in place on Friday night for different items.

“The Lake Hamilton Alumni Association is full of great volunteers that help make this event possible,” Bridges said. “I couldn’t do it without our volunteers who will be helping work the event on Friday night.”
