Sibyl J.T. Addison

MALVERN — Sibyl Jean Thomason Addison, 80, of Malvern, passed Aug. 23, 2017, at her home.

Born Jan. 1, 1937, in Malvern, the daughter of Frank B. and Jessie Mae Null Thomason. Sibyl was a homemaker and retired sales associate for Wal-Mart.

Survivors include daughters, Marvena Labrije, Brenda Tullos, Connie Byrd and Renee Mercer; stepson, Joey Addison (Suzanne); brothers, Walter Thomason and Roger Thomason (Linda); sisters, Lonetta Dawson (George), Shirley Ward (Henry); sisters-in-law, Odessa Thomason, Twila Bowser and Lois Thomason; numerous grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at Regency.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday at Regency Funeral Home chapel.

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — A celebratio­n of life for Adair Crane Atkinson, 88, of Hot Springs Village, who died Aug. 13, 2017, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kirk in the Pines Presbyteri­an Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kirk in the Pines Presbyteri­an Church, Good Samaritan Society in Hot Springs Village or Teen Challenge.

Rosa L. Ballew

The service for Rosa Lee Ballew, 91, of Hot Springs, who died Aug. 19, 2017, will be at 10 a.m. today at Caruth Village Funeral Home with Brothers Rick Merryman and Jimmie Scott officiatin­g.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Colt Sharp, Jerry Keener, Bobby Keener, Kenneth Keener, Dwight Godwin and Tom McJunkens.

Honorary pallbearer is Dr. Hosam Kamel.

Helen R.E. Buss

The service for Helen Ruth Enbey Buss, of Hot Springs, who died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, will be 10 a.m. today at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Young officiatin­g.

Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Grace Memorial Cemetery, in Santa Fe, Texas, with Pastor Teddy Cross officiatin­g.

Merlene Etheridge

Merlene Etheridge, 88, of Hot Springs, passed Aug. 22, 2017, at her daughter’s home in Hot Springs.

Mrs. Etheridge is a lifelong resident of Hamburg, Ark. She was a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church in Donaldson.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, the Rev. Ruben Allen Etheridge; her parents, Sylvester Green Pogue and Annie May Marie Arron Pogue.

Graveside service is 10 a.m. today, Aug. 24, 2017, at Neighbors Cemetery.

Betty P. Martin

Betty P. Martin, 83, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017.

She was born on Oct. 9, 1933, in Hot Springs, to Harvey and Ruby Parker.

Meeting Betty in Heaven are her parents and her loving husband, Walter “Junie” Martin.

Survivors include her brother, Gene Parker Sr. (Mary Nell); sister, Katherine Sligh; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Betty graduated from Lakeside High School in 1951. She was a former insurance secretary and then secretary for Bechtel Power Corporatio­n in Palo Verde, Ariz. Her passion was to research and study genealogy, having served as a member of the Melting Pot Genealogy Society for many years.

Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home, with funeral service to immediatel­y follow at 11 a.m. with Father Billy Elser officiatin­g.

Inurnment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

MOUNTAIN HOME — A graveside service for Connie Kay Ray, of Mountain Home, Ark., will be 1 p.m. today, Aug.

24, 2017, at Morning Star Cemetery, Hot Springs, Ark., with the Rev. Bob Feathersto­n, of Doniphan, Mo., officiatin­g.

Connie passed away Aug.

18, 2017, in Mountain Home, Ark., at the age of 64. She was born June 14, 1953, in Harlan, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Viola Peterson Waddell. She married Wayne Ray on Jan. 16,

1982, in Las Vegas, Nev. Connie worked at Regions Bank, formerly Arkansas Bank and Trust, where she held various positions over the years. After retiring from banking, she worked for the Garland County Clerk’s office for three years. She enjoyed reading and fishing, as well as spending time with her family. She also loved her dog, Jezebel. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harlan, Iowa.

Connie is survived by her husband, Wayne Ray, of Mountain Home, Ark.; four children, Colleen (Mark) Ball, of Bryant, Ark., Brian (Trenda) Ray, of Little Rock, Ark., William “Bill” Ray, of Alexander, Ark., and Tara (Robert) Wright, of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; her sister, Carolyn (Dean) Finken, of Atlantic, Iowa; brother, Bruce (Brenda) Waddell, of Harlan, Iowa; eight grandchild­ren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friend, Shirley Hensley, of Mountain Home, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Burial will be in the Morning Star Cemetery, Hot Springs, Ark.

NORMAN, Okla. — Rex Lee Studley, age 67, of Norman, Okla., formerly of Hot Springs, died Aug. 19, 2017.

Darry V. Teeter

LITTLE ROCK — Darry Vaughn Teeter, age 63, of Little Rock, passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2017.

He was born July 30, 1954, in Hot Springs, Ark., to the late Darrel M. Teeter and Huberta Teeter of Malvern, Ark.

He graduated from Malvern High School, Malvern, Ark., in 1972. After a few weeks of college, Darry tossed his books out the car window and drove straight to Little Rock to start his business career at the age of 18. He was a successful businessma­n and has owned and operated CC Motors in North Little Rock for nearly 40 years. He loved the car business. In addition to cars, Darry was a motorcycle enthusiast, loved animals, but especially loved time with his family.

He is survived by his mother, Huberta Teeter; wife, Molly Wren Teeter; brother, Denny Teeter; children, Everett and Will; stepdaught­er, Kim; grandchild­ren, Charlie, Lily, Owen and Ashlyn; aunt, Doris Hill; uncles, Dr. Kenneth Jones and Johnny Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebratio­n of Darry’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at First Assembly of God Church, 1421 S. Main St., Malvern, AR 72104, officiated by Pastor Jimmy Bobo and the Rev. Earl R. Teeter, of Midlothian, Texas.

Burial will follow at Bowden Cemetery on Crow Mountain, near Pottsville, Ark., at 4:30 p.m. A motorcycle caravan will escort his remains to the cemetery. Friends are invited to join Darry’s last ride.

A celebratio­n of life for Arvis Vaughn, 68, of Hot Springs, who died Aug. 21, 2017, will be 10 a.m. today at Gross Funeral Home.

José Villarreal

José “Joe” Villarreal, 57, of Hot Springs, passed away after fighting a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017.

He was born Aug. 29, 1959, in Ulm, Germany.

Joe was the owner of Cool Ray Window Tenting.

He was predecease­d by his brother, Jorge Villarreal.

He is survived by his parents, Gilberto and Maria Villarreal; brother, Carlos (Susan) Villarreal; sisters, Julia Villarreal, Carmen (Scott) Campbell, Rose (Brian) McDonald; many nieces and nephews; a special friend, Tara Lopez; and numerous friends.

His favorite pastimes were hiking the mountain, photograph­y and fishing. He was a kind and loving man with a big heart, who would go out of his way to help anyone.

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlastin­g life.”

CARTHAGE — Dorothea Wallace, 56, of Carthage, went to heaven Aug. 22, 2017.

Born Feb. 25, 1961, in Malvern. She is preceded in death by her father, Miles Wallace Sr.; her son, Josh Withrow; and stepfather, Jace DeBin.

Survivors are her mother, Marion DeBin; her daughter, Malea Patterson (Steven); sister, Diana Craven; brother, Miles Wallace Jr. (Joy); three wonderful grandchild­ren, Kristen and Destiny Patterson, Dawson Withrow; nephews, Jessie Wallace (Megan), Paxton Wallace; niece, Sarah Foshee (David).

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Aug. 25, 2017, at Regency Funeral Home.

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Aug. 26, 2017, at First Baptist Church Carthage with Brother William Wallace officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
