NPC campus to close for Labor Day holiday
National Park College will be closed Monday in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
All classes are canceled and all campus services will be closed.
Classes will resume and all campus services will be open for regular business on Tuesday.
Job skills, career conference offered for single mothers
NASHVILLE — The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund recently invited single mothers throughout the state to a free job skills and career readiness conference on the Nashville campus of Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas.
The deadline to register is Sept. 20. A free lunch, $50 Walmart gas card and a portfolio will be provided for each attendee. Door prizes will also be presented.
Topics of the conference will include personal branding, resume writing, networking strategies, interview coaching, personal presentation tips, empowerment and the job search process. The workshop will be presented by Jan McCormick, a
job readiness evangelist.
The state organization partnered with the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Howard County to offer the conference from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 30 in Rooms 101 and 102 on the Nashville campus. The event is also sponsored by the Walmart Foundation.

COTO announces summer honors lists
MALVERN — College of the Ouachitas recently announced the president’s and dean’s lists for the summer 2017 semester.
Students on the president’s list earned 12 or more credit hours in college level courses and achieved a 4.0 grade-point average for the semester. Local students on the president’s list are: Hot Springs Dylan Greco, Whitney Hall, Le’Vonna Henning. Malvern
