Phillip W. Brookshire

JESSIEVILL­E — Phillip Wayne Brookshire 73, of Jessievill­e, passed away Sept. 7, 2017.

He was born June 25, 1944, in Garland, Texas, to Ernest and Grace Brookshire. Phillip enjoyed fishing on Lake Ouachita and working with his hands.

He is predecease­d by his parents and son, David Brookshire.

Loving survivors include his sons, Scott Brookshire and Heath Brookshire; his grandchild­ren, Jess Brookshire, Miranda Brookshire, Nikki Crouch and Camilla Young.

A memorial service in Phillip’s honor will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church, with Brother Buddy Leamons officiatin­g.

Gerald M. Eubanks

Gerald Maxwell Eubanks, 83, of Hot Springs, passed away Sept. 6, 2017.

He was born Jan. 31, 1934, in Paragould, Ark., to the late Jess L. and Esther Lorene (Free) Eubanks. Gerald was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member and Deacon of Hot Springs Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by a son, Alan Eubanks, and a brother, Claxton Eubanks.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Jo Eubanks; a son, Gary, and his wife, Liz Eubanks; sister, Joan, and her husband, Reed Bullard; grandsons, Todd Eubanks and Greg Eubanks; and seven great-grandchild­ren.

Honorary Pallbearer­s are Billy Shaw, Richard Goff, Todd Eubanks, Greg Eubanks, Noah Eubanks, Randall Burcham and the Myatt Sunday School Class of Hot Springs Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. A celebratio­n of Gerald’s life will begin at 10 a.m., with Brother Manley Beasley and Brother Gary Eubanks officiatin­g. Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, Tenn.

Tommy T. Hughes

Tommy T. Hughes, 76, of Malvern, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at his home.

Wynona Lambert

Wynona Lambert, 78, of Bismarck, passed away on Sept.

7, 2017.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Lela Baswell, her husband, Hobson Lambert, one son, Delbert Lambert, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Diane Wacaster (Gerry); a son, Darrell Lambert (Lisa); nine grandchild­ren: Kathryn White (Daryl), Eric Wacaster (Erica), Alisa Lambert, Antonio Lambert, Nathan Wheat (Krista), Lela Lambert, Drew Lambert, Zachary Lambert, Savannah Lambert; eleven great-grandchild­ren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cheryl Lehmann

Cheryl Lehmann, 73, of Hot Springs, died Sept. 6, 2017.

Bernard L. Moix, 63, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Sept. 6, 2017.

ALBEQUERQU­E, N.M. — Amalia G. Ott, of Albuquerqu­e, N.M., passed away at the age of 85 on Aug. 28, 2017.

She was born to the late Maria Flores Guzman, and Ygnacio Guzman on June 1, 1932, in Santa Ana, Calif. Amalia resided in California, Arkansas and in New Mexico.

She was a dedicated mom, enthusiast­ic Oaklawn Park employee, a member of various clubs and volunteer of many Garland County activities. Known by many as ” Molly” and by her beautiful smile, many hearts will never be the same. She will be missed.

Amalia is survived by two daughters: Amalia “Diane” Smith, of Arkadelphi­a, Ark.; and Cecilia Flores, of Albuquerqu­e, N.M. She is also survived by three grandchild­ren: Jeffrey Smith, Rachel Smith, and Stephen Smith as well as four great-grandchild­ren: Adriana Smith, Teresa Smith, and Daniel Smith all of Arkadelphi­a, Ark., and Charlie Smith, of Alabama.

A celebratio­n of Molly’s life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jonathan Beyer officiatin­g.

BISMARCK — Betty Avola Holler Sutton, of Bismarck, born Aug. 30, 1927, in Fort Smith, Ark., went to be with our Heavenly Father and her loved ones that are already there on Sept. 8, 2017.

She lived for 90 years. 89 years and 10 months of those were good, healthy years. She was always young at heart. Our family was truly blessed to have her, and she will be dearly missed. We have a lifetime of fun and happy memories.

She is a descendant of pioneer stock, with her mother being born in Indian Territory, her great grandfathe­r, Harrison Jones, being killed in the line of duty as a town constable in the very early days of Bartlesvil­le, Okla., and her great uncle, Charles “Gristmill” Jones, being the first mayor of Oklahoma City. The pioneering spirit never left her. She worked at Camp Crowder, in Neosho, Mo., during World War II, where she met her husband. She loved to camp and fish, and even planned fishing trips after she got out of the hospital. She also loved to travel, shop, eat out and play Bunco.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Sutton; her mother, Lola Holler; her father, Karl Holler; brothers, Charles Holler, Johnny Holler and Richard Holler. She is survived by: her children, Danny Sutton and Patricia of Canton, North Carolina; Roseanna and Horace Douglas, of Malvern; and Janet Williams of Bryant. Grandchild­ren are: Alana Wood, Brian Douglas, Rachel Clark and Vincent Williams. Great grandchild­ren are: Justin Denham, Jacob Douglas, John Albritton and Jeff Albritton. Great-great-granddaugh­ters are Zolee Denham and Miracle Robertson.

Graveside Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bismarck, Ark.

Wesley F. Trott

Wesley Fredrick Trott Sr., of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 7, 2017.

He was born on March 15, 1937, in Hot Springs, to Wesley Herbert and Mary Keene Trott. Wesley was a member and former deacon of Bates Community Church.

He was met at the gates of Heaven by his parents; first wife, Geraldine “Jerri” Trott; son, Wesley Trott Jr.; infant daughters, Vickie and Valory; brother, Richard Trott Sr.; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Couch, Doyle Blocker.

Wesley was a certified Orthotist and Prosthetis­t for Felix Limb and Brace for 45 years.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie Trott; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Johnny Johnson, Tracey and Tony Wilson, Stacey Reed and Danny McConnell; son, Rayburn Reed; nine grandchild­ren, Danny Jones Jr., Courtney Wilson, Elizabeth Jones, Lauren Smith, Kelsey May, Samantha Johnson, Kristen Wilson, Lindsey Trott, Hannah Walker; great-grandson, Brentlee Hulsey; and sisters and brother, Lois Tucker, Bunny Couch, Pam Blocker and Bill Trott.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of Wesley’s life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Al Harvey officiatin­g.

Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.

Mavis J. Troyer

Mavis “Midge” Jaunice Troyer,

81, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 7, 2017.

She was born in Mountain Pine to the late Jewel and Alice Smith.

Mavis graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1954. She then obtained a degree from Delta State College in Cleveland, Miss., and went on to receive her master’s from the University of Washington.

Mavis spent her life enriching the lives of others as a school teacher, and her teaching took her many new places in life. She taught in Mississipp­i and several places in Alaska before retiring in Hot Springs, where she taught Sunday school classes. Mavis’ faith was important to her, as was her church family at River of Life Church of God.

Meeting Mavis in Heaven is her sister, Winona Colbert; brother-in-law, Jack Colbert; sister-inlaw, Ivonia Smith; brother-in-law, Phillip Arguello, and great niece, Alexis Arguello.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Irvin Troyer; son, Larry Troyer (Shelly), granddaugh­ters, Leslie and Hannah Troyer; brother, Dwight Smith; sisters, Joyce Arguello and Naomi Smith.

A visitation will be held from

1-2 p.m. on Tuesday at the River of Life Church, with a celebratio­n of Mavis’ life to immediatel­y follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Lance Arguello officiatin­g. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Kade Arguello, Eddie Livingston, Blake Livingston, Daniel Garcia, Robert Arguello and Terry Smith.

Honorary Pallbearer­s include Ray and Ann Hood, Cody Livingston, Clarence Mason, Carl and Phyllis Cranford, Darren Arbour and Judy Garcia.

John W. Tuffy

John Walter Tuffy II, of Hot Springs, passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 3, 2017.

He was born in Connecticu­t to Rose B. and John W. Tuffy, who predecease­d him as did his brother, Brian. John graduated from the University of Hartford and served honorably in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He also served honorably as an Army Reservist for over 19 years in Connecticu­t. His passions were cars and studying history.

John lived peacefully in the Hot Springs area for over 10 years. He leaves a sister, Mary; and her husband, Paul, who reside in Florida.

Rachel Geneva Turner, 88, of Nashville, Ark., passed away on Sept. 9, 2017.

Survivors include her daughter, Carla Turner Haynie (Raymond) of Hot Springs.
