James Moore
James “Rodney” Moore, 89, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Sept. 12, 2017.
He was born Oct. 12, 1927, in El Dorado, to Dan Jones and Lida (Stuart) Moore.
Rodney was a lifelong member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, where he was a member of Victory Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. Rodney retired from Reynolds Metals after many years. He was known for his integrity, his sweet smile, his kind heart and his love of animals. Rodney was certainly a Southern gentleman!
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stuart Moore; and sister, Kathryn Hunter.
Survivors include nieces, Anita Hunter, of Hot Springs, Connie Gallagher (Rick), of Little Rock; nephew, Ken Moore (Carolyn), of Malvern; several great-nieces and -nephews and great-great-nieces and -nephews, as well as several cousins.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. Friday in Caruth-Hale Funeral Home chapel with a celebration of Rodney’s life immediately following at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Fleming officiating.
Burial will follow at Cunningham Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff and residents of West Shores Retirement Facility.
Honorary pallbearers include the members of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, friends from Reynolds Metals, and many friends and neighbors on Point Lookout.
