Mid-America Science Society to host adult superhero event

Mid-America Science Society will present a special Superhero Science Society-themed event for adults ages 21 and older from 5:30-7:30 p.m. today at Mid-America Science Museum.

The superhero science theme is conjunctio­n with Spa-Con, which will be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center Sept. 22-24.

The Superhero Science Society event will feature hands-on science for adults with food from Trejos and adult beverages provided by TriLakes Liquor. Admission for Science Society is $5. Tips will be accepted for food and drinks, with proceeds benefiting the museum’s educationa­l programmin­g.

The event will be held on the Bob Wheeler Science Skywalk. Adult guests are given the opportunit­y to interact with every part of the museum during the event. “We’re excited to be hosting this month’s event on the Bob Wheeler Science Skywalk, where guests will be able to enjoy the outdoor treehouse and exhibits featured on the skywalk while also enjoying the museum’s beautiful landscape,” Doug Herbert, director of education at Mid-America Science Museum, said in a news release.

Adult-oriented science activities will concentrat­e on magnetism, invisibili­ty, and other superhero abilities. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes or cosplay and visitors will have the opportunit­y to win two passes to Spa-Con.
