Wolves, Trojans fall on road

EL DORADO — Offensive woes plagued Lake Hamilton on the road Friday night for the second-straight week.

One week after recording just 31 yards after the first quarter of a 56-7 loss at Bryant, Lake Hamilton threw three intercepti­ons and fumbled twice in a 35-13 loss at El Dorado.

Donovan Walter returned a fumble 94 yards for a Wildcat touchdown while Kameron Bowie recorded two intercepti­ons and Bishop Foster had one. Tyrek Rucks also recovered a fumble for El Dorado.

The Wolves pulled within 21-13 on Utah Aitken’s 19-yard pass to Jacob Nichols late in the third quarter. El Dorado’s Darius Holly connected with Shun Levingston for a 66-yard score and the Wildcats forced a fumble on Lake Hamilton’s quarterbac­k sneak from the one.

The Wildcats set the final margin on a one-yard touchdown run by Alex Hicks with 7:42 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Nichols paced the Wolves with 103 yards on 10 carries while sophomore Malik Brewer added 101 yards on 14 attempts, including a 67-yard touchdown. Aitken completed eight of 17 passes for 87 yards.

El Dorado’s Richard Keese carried 16 times for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Holly completed 12 of 17 passes for 284 yards with two touchdowns and one intercepti­on, Taliq Ellis with five catches for 174 yards.

After three straight games on the road, Lake Hamilton (2-2, 0-1) hosts Texarkana next week on Bank of the Ozarks Field at Wolf Stadium.

Hot Springs-Watson Chapel

PINE BLUFF — Leading 14-13 with less than four minutes to play, Hot Springs was primed for a surprise victory over heavily favored Watson Chapel Friday night.

The Trojans took over after blocking a field goal attempt with 4:10 remaining, but fumbled on their next possession. Watson Chapel made the most of its opportunit­y, scoring a go-ahead touchdown with 3:15 to play to seal a 21-14 win.

After an early score by the Wildcats, Chris Stewart found Terrance Floyd for a 25-yard touchdown in the second quarter and it was 7-7 at the half.

Recovering a bad snap on a punt attempt, Hot Springs took a 14-7 lead early in the fourth quarter before the Wildcats answered on a 60-yard touchdown pass from Jalyn Williams to Berkarian Black.

Williams completed six of 17 passes for 70 yards with one intercepti­on, Black hauling in three passes

for 65 yards. Omar Allen paced the Wildcats with 120 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries.

Hot Springs rushed for 180 yards, Damien Walker with 70 yards on 15 carries and Deante Sanders with 50 yards on 12 attempts.

The Trojans (0-4, 0-1) welcome Hope to Reese Memorial Stadium for a matchup of winless teams.
