Wolves win Russellville meet
RUSSELLVILLE — Junior Colby Swecker, finishing third, helped Lake Hamilton’s varsity boys cross country team win the Cyclone Invitational here Saturday.
Swecker ran the 3.1 miles in
16 minutes, 5.32 seconds, following Maumelle’s Dylan Douglas
(15:26.49) and Heber Springs’ Parker Ables (15:48.72). The Wolves outpointed Maumelle 70-80 overall, junior Omar Rams placing 10th
(16:28.01), senior Ramon Morales
17th ( 17: 01.93) and sophomore Noah Smith 19th (17:08.36)
Jessieville senior Noah Eskew, three-time Class 3A champion, placed sixth in 16:08.46.
Skylar Davis ran 21st, Adam Albrecht 38th and Cody Weldon
50th for Lake Hamilton.
Lake Hamilton senior Josie Carson, three-time Class 6A champion, finished second to Conway sophomore Sara Holman in the varsity girls’ race. Holman was timed in 18:43.50 and Carson in
18:48.82.
Fayetteville outpointed Conway 44-102 for the girls’ team title with Lake Hamilton (112) third. Seniors Morgan Pruitt (21:20.55) and Anna Cole (21:53.08) and sophomores Meighan Mears (22:10.53), Anacaron Ramos (22:11.05), Katherine Scalzo (23:30.16) and Madison Mears (24:25.76) also ran for the Lady Wolves.
Jessieville senior Alina Homan placed 16th in 21:11.01.
