Tykes, Trikes & Trails set for Saturday

The annual Tykes, Trikes and Trails event will be held Saturday at Entergy Park, 530 Lakepark Drive.

Registrati­on will begin at 9 a.m., with activities starting at

10 a.m. The public is welcome to walk or ride the paved trails during the first portion of the event, a news release said.

As part of the Internatio­nal Mountain Bicycling Associatio­n’s Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day, participan­ts 9 and older can ride the natural surface trails with experience­d mountain bike riders, learning tips and tricks for maneuverin­g the trails from the experts.

“We are happy to announce that Hot Springs bicycle police Officer Sam Spencer will join us again this year. He’ll bring his bike and ride both portions of the event with youth and adult participan­ts,” Jean Wallace, Hot Springs Parks & Trails director, said in a news release.

Members of Hot Springs Intermedia­te School’s Student Council will assist with registrati­on, bicycle and helmet checks, and handing out T-shirts and certificat­es to all participan­ts. Helmets are required, and all ages will be supervised according to skill level. Snacks and water will be provided.
