Diffie featured at Christmastime in Arkansas LIVE

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

Country music legend Joe Diffie will be the featured performer at the third annual Christmastime in Arkansas LIVE, featuring the Ned Perme Band, on Dec. 15 at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

This annual show benefits the Arkansas Food Bank.

Tickets, which are $25 per person or $500 for a VIP reserved table for 10, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday on Ticketmaster.

“Last year’s first Christmastime in Arkansas was a huge success, and this year’s concert promises to be even better,” Steve Arrison, CEO of Visit Hot Springs, said in a news release. “We had an incredible show last year that benefits a great cause. Ned puts together on stage some of the best talent our state has to offer in Christmastime in Arkansas LIVE.”

Country singers Ryan Couron and Bonnie Montgomery and the country duo Texarkana will also perform.

Diffie’s recordings have charted 35 times on the Billboard Hot Country Chart, including five No. 1 hits, 12 Top 10 singles and 10 Top 40 tunes. He is also a Grammy Award winner, according to a

biography provided by Visit Hot Springs.

“With the release of Jason Aldean’s hit ‘1994,’ which name-checked many of Joe Diffie’s No. 1 hits, the legendary singer found himself squarely back in the hearts and minds of country fans. The multi-platinum-selling artist who dominated the charts during a hot streak in the ’90s may have been absent from the radio charts for the past few years, but Joe-Joe-Joe Diffie has never slowed down — writing, touring and recording myriad projects including his critically acclaimed 2010 bluegrass album ‘Homecoming,’ and his recent ‘Roots And Boots’ acoustic tour and collaborative CD ‘All In The Same Boat,’ with fellow hitmakers Sammy Kershaw and Aaron Tippin,” the release said.

With chart-toppers like “Pickup Man,” “Third Rock From the Sun,” and “John Deere Green,” and 13 albums and over 20 Top 40 singles to his credit, “Diffie has little to prove at this point in his career, yet he still has a fire in his belly to make good country music,” it said.
