Thomas and Patricia Gates, of Hot Springs, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversar­y Saturday.

The couple were married Oct. 14, 1967, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Mantua, N.J., with the Rev. Patrick Sheehan officiatin­g.

Thomas Gates, a lifetime resident of Hot Springs, is retired from Hot Springs Water Co. Patricia Gates is retired from St. Joseph Hospital. They are members of Crossgate Baptist Church and different clubs. They have planned a trip to the East Coast to study the colonial lineage of both of their families.

They are the parents of Travis Gates, of Hot Springs, and Amanda Chaffee, of Rogers; and grandparen­ts of Connor Chaffee, Kendall Gates, Caden Chaffee and Elizabeth Chaffee.

Wes and Suellen “Sue” Citty Poole, of Hot Springs, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversar­y with a family reception.

The couple were married Oct. 12, 1957, in Church of Christ, at DeQueen, with A.T. Oliver officiatin­g. West Poole is a retired electrical engineer from Internatio­nal Paper Co. in Pine Bluff and worked with Reynold’s Metals in Bauxite. Sue Poole is a retired elementary school teacher. They are members of Airport Church of Christ.

They are the parents of Tony and Joni Poole, of Little Rock, and Gary and Jennifer Poole, of Conway; and grandparen­ts of Blake Poole, Mallory Sillavan, Shelby Poole and the late Bradley Poole.
