61 Celsius takes home Prism, Silver Quill Award

-

Hot Springs marketing agency 61 Celsius was recognized for its excellence in public affairs advocacy at the 2017 Prism Awards in Little Rock. The Hot Springsbased marketing firm received top honors in the Multi-Element Program in Public Affairs for its work on the Pave It Forward campaign. The same entry was recognized with a regional International Association of Business Communications Silver Quill Award from entries submitted from 17 states and several Caribbean countries and territories.

The 2017 Prism competition was a collaboration of the Arkansas chapters of the International Association of Business Communicators, Public Relations Society of America and AdClub Little Rock. More than 17 public relations/communications organizations submitted 95 entries in 34 multi-element and single-element categories. The 61 Celsius agency was also named a finalist in the Special Events and Observances category for Stone Bank’s veteran recognition program.

Stephanie Alderdice, president of 61 Celsius, said in the press release, “61 Celsius is honored to receive this recognition for our work in advocacy that ensures both Hot Springs and Garland County has access to infrastructure that promotes economic development, safety and the health of our citizens.”

The Pave It Forward 2016 ballot initiative enabled plans to issue more than $54.6 million in capital improvement bonds, secured by a temporary five/eighth percent sales tax. The campaign focused on road improvement projects across Garland County, with particular emphasis on funds for the limited-access Fountain Lake parkway, linking the intersection of Highways 5 and 7 at Fountain Lake to the eastern terminus of Martin Luther King

Jr. Expressway, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 70 and U.S. 70 Business, east of Hot Springs. Last June, voters approved the measure by nearly a 2-to-1 margin.

A worldwide panel of professionals judged the competitions. Criteria for the awards focused on the agencies’ ability to facilitate highly successful campaigns based on research, strategy, execution and evaluation.
