Imogene O. Bledsoe

Imogene Oaks Bledsoe, 90, of Hot Springs Village, long time resident of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct.

14, 2017.

She was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Grady to Knox Nelson Sr. and Audie Truhett Nelson.

Mrs. Bledsoe attended Poteau Jr. College in Poteau, Okla., and University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff, majoring in music.

In Pine Bluff she was an active member of South Side Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and directed a beginner’s choir. She was also active in community work. The Pilot Club was foremost in her work, where she served as president on several occasions and then moving into the Ark./Okla. District as lieutenant governor and governor, also serving on the internatio­nal level.

Prior to retiring in 1992, she and James owned J& J Auto Parts, formerly known as 720 Auto Parts, in Pine Bluff. Prior to joining her husband at 720 Auto Parts, she worked at First South Savings and Loan for 12 years.

Retiring and moving to Hot Springs in 1992, she and James were active members of Second Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and served as coordinato­r for the music program for 12 years. Moving to the Village in 2004, she and James became active in Barcelona Road Baptist Church. Imogene served as a Sunday school teacher, the financial board chair and played in the Handbell choir.

Imogene married Tommy Bledsoe Feb. 4, 2012. and lived in Hot Springs Village.

Mrs. Bledsoe was preceded in death by her first husband of

59 years, James Oaks; her parents; brother, Knox Nelson, Jr.; and sister, Bennie Dean Thompson.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy Bledsoe; and two nephews, Keith and Dwayne Thompson.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 17, 2017, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Dr. Jon Stubblefie­ld officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until service time at Robinson’s.

Kenneth O’Neal

Kenneth O’Neal, age 78, of Hot Springs, died Friday, Oct.

13, 2017.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Verl Stovall officiatin­g.

Visitation will be held from

6-8 p.m. today. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Michael Stovall, Jerry Stovall, Charlie Edmonson, Pat Edmonson, Rusty Lewis and Clint Ledbetter.

Honorary pallbearer­s are the staff of Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilita­tion and the staff of Arkansas Hospice.

Jerrie A. Sears

Jerrie Ann (Hughbanks) Sears went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017. She died peacefully in the hospice unit of CHI St Vincent in Hot Springs, Ark.

Jerrie was born in Abilene, Kan., on Sept. 21, 1941. She was predecease­d by her parents, Buck and Esther Hughbanks; and her husband and love of her life, Vernon Sears.

She is survived by her children, David Sears and his wife Shannon Butler, of West Virginia, Donita (Sears) Stanage and her husband Eric, of Hot Springs Village; step-daughter, Dana Sears, of Tennessee; grandchild­ren, Blake Stanage and his wife Kayla of Benton, Courtney, Katie, Allie and Dylan Stanage, of Hot Springs Village; brothers, Jim Hughbanks and his wife Chris, of Texas, Steve Hughbanks and his wife Debi, of Kansas; one aunt, Francis Burnett of Kan.; in addition to many dear nieces and nephews.

Jerrie taught Spanish and English for over 30 years, with most of those years being at Jessievill­e High School. She was a member of Jessievill­e First Baptist Church for over 35 years where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many of those years as well as in other ministries.

Beloved not only by her family but also by numerous members of the community for her dedication and kindness. She led by example through her strength as a cancer survivor, encouragem­ent as a teacher, and her generosity as a constant supporter and donor to many charitable causes and ministries. Her hobbies included working in her garden, reading, travel, and spending time with her family. Jerrie was known for her positive attitude and bright smile, no matter the situation she faced. She was an example of grace and strength to those who knew her.

Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Jessievill­e First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Brother Derek Combs will be conducting the service.

Doyle L. Yarbrough

Doyle Lee Yarbrough, 82, of Pearcy, Ark., passed away Oct.

13, 2017. He was born March 12,

1935, in Bismarck to Elmer Lee and Vervie (Wood) Yarbrough.

Doyle was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to train bird dogs, raise cattle, and dabble in the stock market.

Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela Dorsey; brothers, Gene, Jerry Don, and Cecil Yarbrough; and nephew, Gene Yarbrough Jr.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Roxanne Yarbrough, of Pearcy; daughter, Patricia Parks (Doug Bates), of Hot Springs; sisters, Linda Fendley (Doug), of Bismarck; Sherry Miller (David), of Hot Springs; grandchild­ren, Joe Lingo, Brian Lingo, Amanda Bates; four great-grandchild­ren; and numerous extended grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of Doyle’s life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Church of Christ in Bismarck with Doug Fendley officiatin­g.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bismarck.

Pallbearer­s include Joe Lingo, Brian Lingo, Ethen Lingo, Dale Fendley, Nelson Yarbrough, and Michael Belleno.

Honorary pallbearer­s are A.J. Bond, George Callahan, and retired Hot Springs Firefighte­rs.
