Johnny D. Robertson
MOUNTAIN PINE — Johnny Delmer “Buddy” Robertson, 78 years old, of Mountain Pine, Ark., passed from this life on Oct. 15, 2017.
Delmer was born March 26, 1939, in Avant, Ark. He attended Jessieville School. Delmer was married to Wilma (Caldwell) Robertson on Sept. 20, 1958, for 59 years.
He was retired from Weyerhaeuser after 28 years of service. He enjoyed spending time hunting with his family on Hickory Nut Mountain and fishing on Lake Ouachita. The joy in his life was his wife, children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was known for his contagious laughter and many pranks. Delmer was a deacon at Grand Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
He is predeceased by his sons, Ricky Robertson, Stephen Robertson; his parents, Frank and Alene Robertson; his brothers, Omer, Jamie and Kenny Robertson; and his grandson, Johnny Riley Thompson.
Delmer is survived by his wife, Wilma (Caldwell) Robertson; daughters, Brenda (Joe) Thompson, Linda (Richard) Godwin, Vickie Lindsey (David Hill), Sharon (Tim) McDorman, Beverly (Darryle) Sulton; son, Mark Robertson; brothers, El Gene Robertson, Elmer (Lucy) Robertson, Billy (Vivian) Robertson, Jerry (Joyce) Robertson, Ronnie (Pat) Robertson, Donnie (Sissy) Robertson, Glen (Michael) Robertson; and sisters, Mary Robertson and Bonnie (Jimmy) Pennington.
Delmer had 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren whom he adored.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mountain Valley Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village, Ark. Brother Roger Harper and Brother Sonny Porterfield will be officiating the church service. Graveside services will be at New Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Brother Joe Thompson and Brother Darryle Sulton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Grand Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
