John P. Higdon

John Paul Higdon, 73, of Hot Springs, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at his home.

He was born June 3, 1944, in Hot Springs, to the late Otis and Juanita Higdon. He attended Lake Hamilton Baptist Church, was a dairy farmer, businessma­n and member of the Elks Lodge.

He was predecease­d by his parents and brother, Jolly Higdon.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Higdon; sons; Mitch Higdon, Ryan (Brandi) Higdon; stepdaught­er, Vanessa Padgett; his brothers and sisters, Sue Ferrell, Martha Figeroia, Richard (Jackie) Higdon, Barbara Moody, Sara Schoenle, Tom (Janice) Higdon, Phil (Georgeanna) Higdon; sister-in-law, GiGi Higdon; three grandchild­ren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 21, 2017, at Mazarn Chapel Cemetery with Pastor J.B. Evans officiatin­g.

Pallbearer­s are his family and friends.

Honorary pallbearer­s are the Elks Lodge poker player members.

WHEELING, W.Va. — Patricia Lee Yahn-Hunt, age 81, of Wheeling, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at 11:04 p.m., with her eldest son and his wife at her side.

She was born March 8, 1936. The daughter of Harold and Laura (Chute) Yahn.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Charles Leonard Hunt; her sister, Roseanne Yahn Cook; and brothers, Harold “Butch” Yahn and George Yahn.

Patricia was raised in the Catholic faith. She attended Mass regularly at her parish in Perris, Calif., for more than 20 years. She recently moved to Arkansas to be with her eldest son and his family. St. Mary of the Springs was her parish of choice after she moved, and she also enjoyed attending Christian Ministries Church when she was able.

Also lovingly known by many as Tootsie, a name given to her by her father when she was very young, her hobbies included oil painting, crocheting and taking care of her many animals. She loved her family and cherished their time together.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory Alan Stahl, (Kelle Jo), of Hot Springs, Ark., Russell Thomas Stahl (Thea), of Nuevo, Calif.; stepson, Ricky Hunt; stepdaught­er, Betty Walker, both from California; grandchild­ren, Andrew Thomas Stahl, Charlotte Stahl, Thomas Stahl, Laura Lee Stahl, Keith Walker, Brian Hunt, Megan Hunt, Misty Hunt and Mallory Hunt.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church, Whittingto­n Avenue, Hot Springs, Ark.
