The Village Chorale welcomes new and returning voices

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Village Chorale will welcome two new sopranos and a returning bass player for its winter concerts on Dec. 5 in Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs and Dec. 12 at Woodlands Auditorium in the Village.

Donna Bojus arrived in HSV from Connecticut this past June, where she worked in IT Security for one of the larger insurance companies in Hartford. Classical singing was her focus, the Baroque period in particular. In her earlier years she was involved in canoe racing, and with her canoeing partner was instrumental in establishing a women’s racing class. Interested in animal welfare, she plans to become involved with HSV’s Animal Welfare League.

Elizabeth Wiggins has one month more experience than Bojus in HSV life, having moved from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in May. She holds a Master of Music degree in vocal performance. In Puerto Vallarta she was active in establishing and promoting live theater. She most recently starred in “Starting Here Starting Now” at Act II Stages, which she co-owns. The venue has a piano bar and a cabaret, which has enabled Wiggins to enjoy world class performers and to perform. “The only thing better than singing is more singing,” she said in a news release. Presently, she is establishing a tea party catering business, Black Swan Tea Parties.

Bass player Irv Larson moved to HSV in 2004 and joined the Chorale in 2005. Church, singing and family are his priorities. His favorite lake is Lake Ouachita. Larson grew oranges in Central Valley California for 25 years, the release said.

Admission to the concert in Anthony Chapel is free, and open seating tickets for the show at Woodlands Auditorium are $12 and can be purchased from all Chorale members or online at http://www.hsvticketsales.com.
