Village Chorale welcomes new and returning voices

-

The Village Chorale is graced with two new sopranos and a returning bass, who are now preparing for the Dec. 12 concert Winter Magic — Donna Bojus, Elizabeth Wiggins, and Irv Larson.

Bojus arrived in Hot Springs Village from Connecticut this past June. Her career was in IT Security for one of the larger insurance companies in Hartford. Classical singing was her focus, the Baroque period in particular. In her earlier years, she was involved in canoe racing, and with her canoeing partner was instrumental in establishing a women’s racing class — they had only men’s and junior’s classes there back then. Interested in animal welfare, she plans to become involved with HSV’s Animal Welfare League.

Wiggins moved from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in May. She holds a Masters in Music degree in vocal performance. In Puerto Vallarta, she was active in establishing and promoting live theater. She most recently starred in Starting Here Starting Now at Act II STAGES which she coowns. The venue has a piano bar and a cabaret, which has enabled Wiggins to enjoy world class performers as well as to perform.

“The only thing better than singing is more singing,” she said. Presently, she is establishing a tea party catering business, Black Swan Tea Parties.

Larson moved to HSV in 2004 and joined the Chorale in 2005. A little known fact — Larson grew oranges in Central Valley California for 25 years.

The Chorale will perform Dec. 5 in Anthony Chapel, Garvan Woodland Gardens, and on Dec. 12 at the Woodlands Auditorium, Hot Springs Village. Admission to Anthony Chapel is free. $12 open seating tickets for the Woodlands Concert are available from all Chorale members, and at http:// www.hsvticketsales.com.
