Curley Wolves crush J’ville, go 9-1
JESSIEVILLE — Prescott, No. 1 in Class 3A last year, enters the state playoffs No. 2 in its conference — a frightening prospect for Curley Wolf opponents.
Prescott capped a 9-1 season Thursday night with a deceptively close 53-30 rout of Jessieville at Phillips Field. The Curley Wolves led 47-0 in the second quarter and, with the mercy rule activated, played the second half under a continuously running clock. Jessieville finished 4-6 after three straight losses. Thomas Muldrew threw for four touchdowns, ran for a fifth and caught a pass for a sixth Prescott score.
Adam Saveall in his final Jessieville game, had touchdown passes fof 46 and 65 yards, both to Mayson Bradshaw. Saveall ran nine yards and Colton Ault four yards for touchdowns and senior Oliver Nasilai added three two-point conversions.
Muldrew ran nine yards for a touchdown and Cade Honea kicked it to 7-0 after 21 seconds off the clock. Prescott’s next four touchdowns came through the air with Muldrew passing 10 yards to Kadarious Pearson and 21, 29 and 34 yards to Cameron Cox.
Moved to wide receiver in the second quarter, Muldrew caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Cade Haynie. Isaiah Wayne ran two yards for a 47-0 lead before Saveall’s 46-yard strike to Bradshaw.
Jessieville held Prescott scoreless in the third quarter and pulled within 47-30 before Pearson ran four yards for a Curley Wolf touchdown as time expired.
Prescott outgained Jessieville 314-272, thanks largely to a 256-113 edge passing.
