34th annual Christmas golf scramble set

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

Hot Springs Country Club will be the site of National Park Medical Center’s 34th Annual Christmas Scramble Golf Tournament on Friday, Dec. 1.

Registration, sponsored by Arvest Bank, will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start. Single players may register for $125 and teams for $500.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to Kamo’s Kids Foundation, which was established as a nonprofit in February 2009 in memory of Kameron “Kamo” Hale.

“We are so appreciative of our partnership with National Park Medical Center and the many companies and golfers that support our endeavor to make life a little bit better for the youth in our community,” said Dr. Kevin Hale in a news release.

The Foundation actively works with area organizations, school officials, the juvenile court system and individuals to help underserved children. The Foundation does not allocate funds for administrative purposes, ensuring that every cent received is put to work helping children in need.

In addition to serving day to day special needs for underserved children in all of the Garland County school districts, the Foundation also provides college scholarships, underwrites the annual Fields of Faith ministry project and works with the Garland County Juvenile court system to provide incentives for kids to complete the program.

The tournament will include a player gift sponsored by Citizens Bank, Breakfast sponsored by Ouachita Regional Anesthesia, On Course Lunch will be provided sponsored by LHC Group, Warming Tent sponsored by Diamond Bank, silent auction, great door prizes, beverages by Arkansas Beverage Sales, and prizes by All American Classics for the first, second and third place teams in both flights. The tournament will also have several contests, including Longest Drive by Razorback Camper Sales, Closest to the Hole by Healthstar Physicians and a Golf Ball Drop by Survival Flight-10.

Additional sponsors include Bank of the Ozarks; Bruce Gaston, DDS; Hot Springs Title Company; Arkansas Records Management; Gigerich Electrical Inc; First Security Bank; EXIT Marketing; Hot Springs Radiology; AWI Supply; Drs. Greg Ramer and Neill Clem; Service-Master Commercial Cleaning; Relyance Bank; Arkansas Blood Institute; Royal Windows; Seiz Signs; B&F Engineering; Posey Printing; and Bennett’s Auto Service.
