Scott A.T. Vaughn

-

Scott Alexander Thurston Vaughn, 21, of Hot Springs, was granted his angel wings on Nov. 11, 2017. “It is fitting that Scott was rewarded on Veterans Day. Scott fought so many battles in his life. But in his final days, he held his head high and said he knew God was alive and waiting for him.”

Scott’s perseverance, strength and courage were an example to friends and family who gathered to lift him in prayer and love during his final days. Every moment with their wise, brave boy was a lesson that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to make memories.

With Scott’s passing, we remind others that his life is to be celebrated. Scott taught all those who were lucky enough to know him about the power of prayer, the strength of faith and the importance of every moment.

Scott loved the color green, lions, anime, video games, hunting, Jack Skellington, scary movies and music. Scott’s mood could generally be determined by what music he was listening to — the whimsical sounds of ’50s doowop, the occasional contemplative symphony or the more serious tone of his favorite band, Skillet.

Scott will be waiting in Heaven with his twin brother, Christopher Daniel Vaughn, to greet their parents, Dana Turnbull and Matt Vaughn; stepfather, Derek Turnbull; stepmother, Rhonda Vaughn; siblings Arika (Jason) Owen, Brooklyn (Cory) French and Brandon Turnbull; niece, Paisley Owen; nephew, Jordan French; their grandparents; and many more extended family members.

A celebration of Scott’s life will take place at Gross Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17. Burial will immediately follow at Crestview Cemetery.
