VFW, Auxiliary meets, serves breakfast

The VFW and VFW Auxiliary, 2231 E. Grand Ave., behind KOA, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday. The auxiliary will serve a buffet-style breakfast from 8:30-10 a.m. for $7. Everyone welcome.

Spa City Co-op online marketplac­e will be open from 9 a.m. Saturday through 9 p.m. Tuesday, providing the community with a way to get fresh foods from area farmers. Products available are vegetables, herbs, spices, eggs, cheese, naturally raised meats, bath and beauty products, jams, jellies, organic, fair-trade coffee, tea, and chocolate, local artisan crafts, and more. Membership is $15 a year. Elks catfish buffet will be served from 5:30-7 p.m. today at the Elks Lodge, 132 Abbott Place, for $12. Blue Velvet will perform on stage at 7 p.m. Debbie’s Deli will be ready after 3 p.m. Saturday.

Diamondhea­d Lions Club bingo games are held at 6 p.m. the first and third Saturday of each month at Diamondhea­d Country Club. Doors open at 5 p.m. Food and adult beverages available. The bigger the crowds, the better the payouts. Call 2624470 for informatio­n.

Hot Springs Pet Therapy will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday in

the Maurice Room at National Park Medical Center. This organizati­on is comprised of volunteers who take their own temperamen­t-tested pets to nursing facilities to cheer the residents and to schools to educate the students. Hot Springs Toastmaste­rs Club will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday in Room 203 at Champion Christian College, 600 Garland St. Suggestion: use the door marked “Cafeteria,” then go upstairs. The club welcomes interested persons. Toastmaste­rs offers resources and a supportive atmosphere to help members develop or practice varied communicat­ion and leadership skills. Visitors may choose their level of participat­ion while learning about Toastmaste­rs.
