-

The annual Chanukah Party and Prime Time Artists’ exhibit will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Katchen Art Studio, 620 W. Grand Ave.

The open house will feature such Jewish specialty foods as potato latkes (pancakes) and lokshen kugel (noodle casserole), and paintings by Katchen’s students and guest artists.

“I am always amazed by the progress of my hardworking students and this year is no exception. We have a beautiful show,” Katchen said in a news release.

Two guest artists will also exhibit work, Daisy McDonald, whose paintings are well known in Hot Springs, and Kathryn Robicheaux, who creates computer altered photographs.

This year’s students include Jacqueline Blakeslee, Jayne Blatherwick, Joanna Brooks, Doris Caravalho, Clarence Cash, Gail flaig, Eddy Hill, Karen Holcumb, Lindy Holmes, Joan Lambert, Jeanette Smeby and Brenda Tremonti.

The party will be part of the “Grand” Open House by merchants on West Grand Ave. The Grand Lagniappe Shop, 811 W. Grand Ave., will show their latest fashions; The Riley Brothers, 710 W. Grand Ave., will demonstrate glass blowing; and Forever Beautiful, 714 W. Grand Ave., a permanent makeup clinic, will present the cosmetic services they offer. Contact each shop for their specific hours on Sunday.
