Springs Flute Ensemble to conclude concert series Saturday

The Hot Springs Flute Ensemble will conclude its Christmas Concert Series at 3 p.m. Saturday in the lobby of the Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa. The concert is free and donations will be accepted for the youth scholarshi­p fund.

Featured in the concert will be soprano Robin Williams singing “Christmas Long Ago,” the theme of the concert. Other selections include the “French Nativity Suite,” “Christmas Exultation­s,” “Joyeux Noels,” “Shepherds on This Hill,” “The Angels Proclaimed” and “Ringing in Christmas.”

Conducted by Kristin Grant, the ensemble includes instrument­s of the entire flute family. Piccoloist­s are Lynn Clardy and Donna Toler, and C flutists are Payton Teague, Marcia Gilmore, Rebecca Irwin, Priscilla Wacaster, Debbie Reed, Williams, Harriet Reynolds, Janet Moore, Deonne Carson, Josie Carson, Janis Hopper, Leoni Bermejo, Kajal Bharany, Marilyn Coffman, Ann Weik, Hal Thompson, and Adeline Mogovan.

Alto flutists are Sara Ferril, Mikayla Lovell, Ann Smedley, Kathy Skinner, and Leah Kuhn Venable.

Bass flutists are Jackie Flowers, Beverly Hegwood, Rhonda Hall, Ronald Johnson, and John Skinner. Contra Bass Flutists are Sarah-Marie Linneman and Aishani Singh.

After a holiday break, the group will resume practices in January for their spring concerts. Flutists interested in joining the group should contact executive director Jackie Flowers at 501-520-0306.
