Coy Campbell, 40, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017.

Coy was born in Charleston, W.Va., to LaDonna Gay Campbell. He grew up in West Virginia, where he attended Capital High School and excelled in football and basketball. He continued his education and football career at Concord University. Upon graduation, he began a career in coaching where he endured many successes at Cisco Community College in Texas, Henderson State University and the University of West Alabama. Coy viewed his athletes as family and enjoyed his time spent with them both on and off the field. Coy moved back to Hot Springs, Ark., in December of 2013 with his wife Lisa and daughters where he has been employed at Verizon.

Coy is preceded in death by his grandmothe­r Alberta Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Campbell; daughters, Marlissa Archie and Aurian Campbell, all of Hot Springs, Ark.; his mother, LaDonna Gay Campbell, of Charleston, W.Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Damon and Jamie Booker, of Columbus, Ohio; uncles, Carl Campbell, Dana Campbell, Ronald Lee Campbell and Randall Campbell, of West Virginia, and uncle, Rudy Campbell, of North Carolina, as well as many extended family and friends.

There will be a visitation noon to 1 p.m. Sunday with a memorial service beginning at 1 p.m. at Gross Funeral Home.
