Lakeside JG roll over Malvern

Lakeside’s junior girls routed Malvern in three games Thursday at Lakeside Athletic Complex.

Erika Bittinger paced the ninth-grade Lady Rams with 7 as Lakeside rolled to a 39-6 win over Malvern.

Following a 13-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, the ninth-grade Lady Rams took a 22-6 lead into the break. Malvern never scored again as Lakeside stretched to a 34-6 lead in the third quarter.

Catriona Morcan added six points for Lakeside (9-3), Maddie Trusty and Sarah Porter had five each and Alexis Drake and Kiley Hermosillo put up four apiece.

* Mady Davenport scored more than double Malvern’s entire team as the eighth-grade Lady Rams routed the Lady Leopards, 31-4.

Lakeside took a 21-2 lead into the break after leading 13-0 at the end of the first period, but the Lady Rams struggled in the third quarter, putting up only two points for a 23-2 lead going into the final frame.

Davenport led Lakeside (5-0) with nine, and Sheridan Cross, Madeline Goodson, Adrianna Howell and Sarah Porter each added four.

* Lakeside seventh-grader Kennedy Brock outscored Malvern Thursday as the seventh-grade Lady Rams rolled over the Lady Leopards, 28-11.

Lakeside stretched an eightpoint lead in the opening quarter to 15 by halftime as the Lady Rams allowed five first-half points to make it 20-5. Lakeside added six in the third while allowing two for a 26-7 lead going into the final period.

Brock led the Lady Rams with 12 points, Riley Orr added five and Kaitlyn Threadgill had four.

HS junior girls

Hot Springs’ junior girls picked up a pair of wins this week to move to 7-3 overall.

Jaylia Reed paced the Lady Trojans with 12 points and six assists in the 49-21 win over Malvern Monday night. Jurnee Hicks added 11, and India Hudson had five points and six rebounds.

The Lady Trojans stretched their winning streak to six Thursday as they routed Hope, 38-15.

Holding the Lady Bobkittens to one in the opening half, Hot Springs hit seven of eight free throws on the night.

The team was led by Reed with 15 points, Hudson added seven and Tamia Dolls had six.

The Lady Trojans will face Pine Bluff Monday.
