Reddies host Ecclesia at Duke Wells Center

ARKADELPHI­A — After a week off for finals, the Henderson State University Reddies return to action this afternoon, welcoming Ecclesia College to the Duke Wells Center for a 2 p.m. tip-off.

The Reddies are coming off of last Saturday’s exhibition game at Arkansas State, where the Reddies fell, 90-76, to the Red Wolves.

Henderson is led by Kaylon Tappin, who is averaging 19.4 points per game, also leads the Great American Conference in scoring The 6-1 senior guard from Little Rock also leads the GAC in free throws, knocking down 58 of his 70 attempts.

Junior Josh Jones is ninth in the league, averaging 15.5 points per game. The 6-5 guard from Memphis, Tenn., leads the Reddies in 3-point field goal shooting, sinking 16 of 34 (47 percent) from distance.

A member of the National Christian College Athletic Associatio­n, Ecclesia (Springdale) is averaging 60 points per contest with a record of 0-11.

The Royals are led by 5-4 senior guard DQ Bagsby, who is averaging 11.0 points per contest while 6-6 junior forward Cash Krueger averages 10.3 points.

Today’s game marks the last for the Reddies before their holiday break, and they will return to action Dec. 30 when Paul Quinn College comes to the Duke Wells Center.
