William H. Anderson

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — William Huston “Bill” Anderson, age 81, of Hot Springs Village, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017.

He was born June 7, 1936, in Dyersburg, Tenn., to the late William and Beatris Burnett Anderson.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a graduate of Monte Central High School in Indiana. He continued his education at Pasadena City College, Los Angeles, Calif., (known as CAL State). He was an industrial arts instructor at Pasadena School District (PSD) from which he retired after many years of service.

After retiring, he and his wife moved to Hot Springs Village, where they have called home for the past 10 years. He was an active member of the Village United Methodist Church, where he exhibited his faith by serving with the Methodist Men Ministry. He was a member of the Monday Morning Hot Springs Village Kiwanis Club.

His memories will forever be cherished by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Webb Anderson, of Hot Springs Village; four sons, Kevin, Brian, Randal and Rory Anderson, all of Altadena, Calif.; one sister, Mary Vivian Henry; one granddaugh­ter, Naomi Marie Anderson; one niece and one nephew and his extended family.

A memorial celebratio­n will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Village United Methodist Church, 200 Carmona Road, with Pastor Chris Hemund, officiatin­g.

Bonnie S. Cosby

JESSIEVILL­E — Bonnie Sue Cosby, 73, of Jessievill­e, died Dec. 16, 2017.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Caruth Village Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hamilton Church of God with Brothers Roger Reid and Larry McNeely officiatin­g.

Burial will be in Cosby Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Rusty Priest, Curtis Priest, Billy Richey, Matt Collum, Troy Reid, Justin Weaver, Morgan Couch, Darrin McNeely and Aaron McNeely.

Lola C. Lambert Jimmy Nichols

AMITY — Lola C. Lambert, age 99, of Amity, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017.

She was born on Jan. 9, 1918, in Point Cedar, the daughter of George Lambert and Sally Hammock Lambert. On Dec. 24, 1933, she was married to Clinton A. Lambert, who preceded her in death on May 3, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Alice Massey; her son, Dee L. Lambert; her parents; her siblings, Jasper Lambert, Franklin Lambert, Hobby Lambert, Bill Lambert, Winnie Griffith and Hazel Ross; and her grandson, Jay Lambert.

She was a homemaker, farmer and cook. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and garden, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren and great-great-grandchild­ren.

She is survived by her son, Ray Lambert; her daughter, Elsie Lambert; her son-in-law, Howard Massey, all of Amity; her brother, Bob Lambert, of Point Cedar; her sister, Virgie Johnson, of Crescent City, Calif.; six grandchild­ren; 10 great-grandchild­ren; four great-great-grandchild­ren; a special granddaugh­ter, Glenda Kassaw; and great-granddaugh­ter, Ashleigh West.

Services are 2 p.m. today in the Shiloh Church of Christ with Rick Collie officiatin­g.

Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearer­s are Albert Lambert, John Lambert, William Lambert, Steve Lambert, Barry Lambert and Fenton Looper.

RUSSELLVIL­LE — Jimmy Nichols, 39, of Russellvil­le, passed away Dec. 15, 2017.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, in Hot Springs Village, Ark. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery.

Doris Sneed

Doris Sneed, 76, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Dec.

17, 2017.

She was born Aug. 12, 1941, in El Dorado, Ark., to Hardis Boyd and V. Catherine Bailey Maples. Doris attended Junction City Elementary School, El Dorado Junior High, graduated from El Dorado High School in 1959, and attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La., from 1959 to 1960.

Doris worked at Oil Belt Vocational Technical School, where she served as secretary to accountant from 1967 to 1992. Oil Belt merged with SAU, El Dorado Branch to form South Arkansas Community College, where Doris worked in the Accounts Payable department from 1992 until she retired in 2000.

Doris was a member of First Baptist Church of El Dorado until she moved in 2000. After moving to Hot Springs, she became a member of First Baptist Church of Hot Springs. She also was a member of Alpha Xi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Women’s Philanthro­pic Society for

25 years. Doris served as board member of Hot Springs Women’s Welcome Club and was president of the club in 2008. She was involved in the Arkansas State Employee Associatio­n, where she served as director for the El Dorado District and was the finalist for the Outstandin­g State Employee Award in 1999. Doris was Outstandin­g State Employee for the Arkansas Associatio­n of Two-Year Colleges in 1999 and will be remembered for her local philanthro­pic volunteer work.

Doris enjoyed traveling and has toured all of the 50 United States and over 20 countries around the world. She loved antiques, glassware and maintainin­g her friendship­s — old and new.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Franklin Sneed; daughter, Sondra Ann Sneed Reap (Jeff), of Hot Springs; grandson, Drew Landon Reap (Grace), of Little Rock; brother, Ronald Boyd Maples (Clara), of Cove; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of Doris’ life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John McCallum and Pastor Mike Pounders officiatin­g.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hot Springs Building Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Doris A. Swan

AMITY — Doris Ann Swan, 54, of Amity, passed away Dec. 16, 2017.

She was born Oct. 22, 1963, in Hot Springs. She will be truly missed by everyone that knew her. Doris’ light shone so brightly and will continue to shine.

She is predecease­d by Johnny Sales, Flora Sales and Doug Sales.

Loving survivors include daughter, Kristen Mahan, and her grandchild­ren, Chance and Shaley Mahan; son, Mack (Charli) Stipes, and grandchild­ren, Steven and Troy Stipes; mother, Lucille Bodden, of Hot Springs; father, Thomas Ward, of Mountain Pine; brothers, Tommy Ward and Jeff Ward; sisters, Debi Ragsdale and Cindy Long; and her lifetime partner, Susie Sandifer.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. A celebratio­n of Doris’s life will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hughes Cemetery, Mountain Pine.

Billy E. Williams

MALVERN — Billy Edward Williams, 70, passed away Nov. 19, 2017.

Billy was born in Warren, Ark., to the late Lola Faye Davis and Thomas Edward Williams.

For six years, Billy proudly served with the U.S. Army XVIII Airborne Division as a specialist second class Crew Chief during two tours of duty in Vietnam. Billy was attached to both the 82nd and 101st Airborne divisions during the period they were flying rescue missions into Laos. An exceptiona­lly talented mechanic, Billy spent many years diagnosing and repairing aircraft, marine, diesel and automotive engines. He worked at the area airports (Little Rock, Benton and Hot Springs) before joining the automotive crew at Tim Parker Dodge in Hot Springs, where he worked for over 20 years.

Billy will be greeted in heaven by his parents and his son, Clifford Harold Williams.

Billy is survived by his daughter, Donna Williams Leach (John); grandson, Jordan Williams; great-granddaugh­ter, Lillian Williams; siblings, Tommy Williams, Charles Howard Floyd and Wanda Williams Roarke; former wife, Patricia Rascoe Williams; as well as, numerous extended family and friends.

Interment will be private at Aldridge Cemetery in Pearcy, Ark.

Jana Kay Wilson, 62, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017.

The service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
