Arkansas Arts Center announces January schedule of events

LITTLE ROCK — “Becoming John Marin: Modernist at Work” opens in January at the Arkansas Arts Center with a lecture by AAC Curator of Drawings, Ann Prentice Wagner.

The exhibition, originatin­g at the Arkansas Arts Center and featuring several never-before-exhibited drawings, will remain on display through April.

Art Start! invites toddlers and their guardians to explore literature and art in the galleries. Winter Quarter Museum School classes also begin in January.

• Jan. 4 — Museum School Open House Make & Takes, 2-4 p.m.

• Jan. 14 — Super Sunday Free Family Funday, noon to 3 p.m.

• Jan. 18 — Art Start!, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

• Jan. 25 — “Becoming John Marin: Modernist at Work” lecture,

5:50 p.m. wine bar, 6 p.m. lecture., 6:30 p.m.

• Jan. 26 — Feed Your Mind Friday, noon.

Museum School

• Winter quarter registrati­on ends Jan. 2.

• Winter Museum School classes begin Jan. 3.

• 60th Annual Delta Exhibition Call for Entries through Feb. 16.

• “Becoming John Marin: Modernist at Work” opens Jan. 26 and runs through April 22.

• 49th Annual Collectors Show and Sale closes Jan. 7.

• “Paul Signac Watercolor­s and Drawings: The James T. Dyke Collection” is ongoing.
