HS Chamber announces 2017 award nominations
The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce on Thursday announced the nominations for its 2017 Community Service Awards to be presented at the 2018 Annual Awards Banquet.
The banquet will be held Jan. 18, in Horner Hall at the Hot Springs Convention Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
The Chamber of Commerce holds the annual banquet as a way to give thanks to its members and the community, as well as recognize those who worked tirelessly throughout the year to better the community, a news release said.
Outgoing Chairman of the Board Latt Bachelor will ceremonially pass the gavel to Mark Curry, incoming chairman of the board. Installation and retirement of other officers will also take place.
This will be the first banquet for Gary Troutman to preside over as president and CEO. Although he was greatly involved with the chamber before, Troutman took the lead position in September.
“The Annual Chamber Awards Banquet is always one of the most well-attended events in our community,” Troutman said. “This year, in addition to honoring the many deeds and accomplishments of our local businesses, organizations, men and women, we
will be paying tribute to former President and CEO Jim Fram for his years of dedicated service.
“We also have a big surprise for everyone courtesy of a lot of work from Clay Farrar. You won’t want to miss this year’s event, so I hope you’ll make plans to join us on Jan. 18.”
