The exhibit will open with a reception from 5-9 p.m. today in conjunction with the monthly Gallery Walk. The show will be on display today through Jan. 31.
Fay is an artist, designer and entrepreneur. An accomplished hand weaver and fiber artist, she now focuses primarily on textile surface design and multiple dying techniques, embellishments and fabric manipulation. Fay’s colorful abstract and modern textiles have been included in exhibitions and collections throughout the U.S.
Horn’s work reflects her interest in abstract, geometric forms, texture, and the use of negative space. Her work integrates organic elements with angular form to create pieces that exhibit a new unified elegance. Horn’s sculptures and paintings are included in many notable museum and public collections.
Inspired by nature, Justus’ paintings are loosely rendered, blurring the line between abstraction and representation. Focusing on patterns of light and form, she captures the rhythms of the natural world within compositions that engage the viewer. Justus’ work has been exhibited and collected throughout the U.S. and abroad. In 2017, Justus’ work was featured on the cover of Elegant Homes Magazine and in Southern Lady Magazine, along with being included in several exhibitions including a solo exhibit entitled “Line of Sight” at the Degas Gallery in New Orleans.
Raborn’s multi-layered paintings integrate representation with abstraction as imagery is revealed and hidden throughout her work. Her work has been included in many notable exhibitions and collections. Raborn earned a M.A. in Art and currently teaches at the Arkansas Arts Center’s Museum School.
Sacran is a contemporary representational painter who primarily works en plein air. His work often focuses on aspects of everyday life that are often overlooked. “Sometimes, it is these quiet, unadorned places that make the most worthy subjects,” he said in a news release. Sacran has been invited to participate in numerous exhibitions and plein air events throughout the U.S. He has received top honors for his paintings from Oil Painters of America and American Impressionists Society, along with many other art organizations and museums. Sacran’s work has also been featured in Southwest Art Magazine, International Artist, Artist Magazine, and PleinAir Magazine.
Saladino is highly respected for his expressive abstracts, landscapes, still life constructions, and printmaking. His work has been included in notable public and private collections including the collections of Tyson Foods, Bicardi Limited, the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation of Austin, Texas, the University of Wisconsin, the University of Dallas, the Museum of Art and Archaeology of the University of Missouri, and the Museum of International Art in Brazil. Saladino has also been featured in The New York Times, Southwest Art Magazine, The Artist’s Magazine, American Artist Magazine, the Best of Sketching and Drawing by Rockport Publishers, and Enrich Your Paintings with Texture by David Band of North Light Books, along with many other publications.
A native of New Hampshire, Sell grew up with a passion for visually emulating nature and constructing objects. Since 2007, Sell’s work has been included in 30 exhibits in the U.S. She earned a M.A. in Art and is also enthusiastic about sharing her creative process through teaching, demonstrations, and speaking to arts organizations.
Throughout his life, Sparling has sought out wilderness, traveling, backpacking, horse packing and kayaking through wild landscapes, but always returning to the woods of his home in the Ouachitas. With great concern for remaining wild places, Sparling has served as a voice for wildlife and habitat conservation throughout the country. With his affinity to nature, it is no wonder that when Sparling began his career as an artist, that his medium would be tied to the natural world. He began learning to work with wood as a child from his father and has continued learning and working with wood throughout his life. Through his work, Sparling seeks to highlight the unique beauty of each piece, while creating vessels, sculptures, and furniture that complement their natural roots.
