Family Care Chiropractic

Pain relief, better function

-

Chiropractic physicians are well educated. The prospective student must have a minimum of 90 college hours with a minimum 3.0 GPA before being accepted into a Chiropractic Physician program — 24 of these hours must be in life and physical sciences with associated lab work, including all biology studies, and chemistries. Behavioral sciences, physical sciences, and communications are also vital to the pre-chiropractic education.

Once in the program, students must complete five traditional academic years in the prescribed curriculum. At Palmer College of Chiropractic, students can study year-round and complete those requirements in approximately

three and a half years.

• Students practice and hone their skills as student externs at the Campus Health Center for students (entry to the clinic system).

• Students practice 1.5 years in the Campus outpatient clinics (administering care to the general public).

• Community outreach clinics (where the student intern provides care for underserved patients).

Once graduated, Doctors of Chiropractic must pass National Boards, as well as State Boards in the state they choose to practice in.

In Arkansas, doctors of Chiropractic are required to attend at least 24 hours per year of continuing education from a certified source.

Highlights of a 2017 Gallup Poll done for Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Annual Report indicate these key findings:

A majority of Americans prefer to try other ways to address their pain before taking pain medication.

• 78 percent prefer to try other ways to address their physical pain before they take pain medication prescribed by a doctor.

• 27 percent of U.S. adults have seen a health care professional for significant neck or back pain in the last 12 months. Of those adults, more than half (54 percent) have had an ongoing problem with neck or back pain for five years or more.

• 22 percent of U.S. adults prefer to take pain medication prescribed by a doctor to treat their physical pain.

A majority of U.S. adults have positive views of chiropractors.

• 63 percent agree most chiropractors have their patient’s best interest in mind.

• 52 percent agree most chiropractors are trustworthy. Many Americans don’t know enough about chiropractic care. Half of U.S. adults who’ve never been to a chiropractor are uncertain whether chiropractors are trustworthy and whether chiropractic care is dangerous or expensive.

Education about chiropractic care increases the likelihood people will go to a chiropractor, especially for younger adults.

The sure benefit of Chiropractic is that it provides pain relief and better function. This helps children and students develop better and stronger. It keeps adults working and productive. This is a great combination for better family living.

With busy lifestyles, folks often find it difficult to eat healthy or exercise regularly.

Dr. Reilly recommends regular exercise and offers nutrition tips to make better choices, which can aid in staying healthy.

Chiropractic is a cost effective remedy that provides pain relief and better function. Chiropractic physicians do not prescribe drugs nor provide surgery. All ages can benefit from chiropractic care when pain and illness first appear. Chiropractors are trained to refer when necessary, and provide a natural remedy to many maladies. A Doctor of Chiropractic can keep you and your family healthy.
