Arlene Edens, age 71, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1946, in El Dorado, the daughter of George Blair and Dorthy Adams Blair. On Aug. 22, 1992, she was married to Ken Edens. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Staggs, and her parents.

Arlene was retired from accounting and bookkeepin­g and a Baptist in her faith. She was part of the Women’s Welcome Club of Hot Springs. Arlene was a great cook and enjoyed sewing. She had a real gift for bringing comfort to people who were sick or terminally ill and was always happy to volunteer her time to help others. She enjoyed working with the Young Eagles program, which gave young people an opportunit­y to take an introducto­ry flight and introduce them to aviation.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Edens; her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Robb Shaver; her grandchild­ren, Erika Ray and Zach McClellan; and her great-grandson, Maxwell Ray, all of Hot Springs; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Omie Blair, of Camden, and Sonny and Diana Blair, of Bryant; and her sister, Cindy Childers, of Ola.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home chapel, Hot Springs, with J.W. Koone and Tom Hartley officiatin­g.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
