Sen. ‘Pinocchio’ Cotton

-

Dear editor:

If one happened to catch the TV news this week, you would have seen our esteemed Sen. Tom Cotton’s nose grow longer and longer. It took him three days, but he finally decided to support our “president” in his bold-faced lie about calling people from Haiti and African countries “s - - - holes!”

Of course he lied that he didn’t say it (with a room full of witnesses), but one Democrat and one Republican heard it and called him on it. The other (see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil) monkeys in the room were afraid to speak up, as they have no spine.

A first-year psychology student could see that Trump is a mental case that does not know how to tell the truth and is more interested in defending himself than the tens of thousands of DACA children he is leaving out to dry. He cannot take criticism, period. He is obviously paranoid. He is an embarrassment to his party, his country and the entire world … not to mention his own soul. He is a liar, a bigot, a sexist and overall, just not too bright.

Yet Sen. “Pinocchio” Cotton is dancing to his strings, the Koch brothers and his unabashed drive to be somebody important at all costs. How can he, in good conscience, betray those who voted him into office by standing by this obviously mentally challenged man who could lead us into a nuclear war with not even thinking of the consequences.

Every day and every hour this man is in office, our country is in danger — our environment, our news media, our judiciary and most of all, the very basic values of our nation. Isn’t this how Hitler and Mussolini got started?
