Tribute to lovely lady

- Love, Larry J. Simmons, till the end, and all her family and friends Hot Springs

Dear Loretta:

Loretta, what a remarkable lady you were, so strong, loving and kind. I could search this whole world over and never another would I find.

God sent you down from heaven above, that I know for sure. A great mother you tried to be, but man had other plans that were not yours, don’t you see?

You cared for others with all the strength and love you had. I still remember each soul and their families when they, too, were gone, you would be so sad.

A most loyal friend, sister, aunt and neighbor you were. Most never understood the struggle you hid and went about doing good.

You would often say to me, I wonder if my children will ever come again? I pray for them, but I don’t know if it’s me who offends.

She spoke of her family every day and all the stories of her past I heard. I miss that laugh. I miss that smile. I miss the lady I knew and loved (you should have stayed a while).

The last words she spoke were “You don’t have to run anymore.” Then she said in a tearful voice, “I only wanted to know, did anyone love me for sure?”

Yes, yes, Loretta June, you were loved and had great favor indeed. You were heaven bound trying to convey this to the ones you loved. “Mama tried and God will do the rest, you see.”

It was hard to believe you were gone too soon. My angel put here on earth, you gave much love. You were a walking wisdom, talking God’s word, even if our ears were not in tune.

To sum you up in one word I cannot try, but to say what a wonder you were, I will always love you and still just the thought of you not here with us makes me cry.

In memory of a treasure, a loyal, faithful and trusted friend, Loretta J. Griffith, May 25, 1951, to Jan. 16, 2018.
