Geraldine Sudmeyer

Geraldine Sudmeyer, 91, of Hot Springs, formerly of London, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs.

A daughter of Benjamin and Elisa Jones Whorton, she was born July 16, 1926, in London.

She was a homemaker. Geraldine was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She was a past member of Extension Homemakers and a member of the Mount Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Geraldine enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, spending time with family and watching the Razorbacks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvil Sudmeyer; her parents; two sons, Danny and Donny Sudmeyer; and three sisters.

Geraldine is survived by three grandchildren, Chad Sudmeyer (Ann), of Benton, Kyle Sudmeyer (Charlotte), of Hot Springs, Aimee Dawn Sudmeyer Roberts (Jason), of Morrilton; two daughters-in-law, Aimee J. Sudmeyer McClaren (Charles), of Cleveland, Patty Sudmeyer, of Hot Springs; and two great-granddaughters, Maggie and Anne-Elise Brammer, both of Hot Springs.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 17, 2018, at Mount Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Augsburg, by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. today at the church.

Memorials may be made to Mount Carmel Building Fund or the Danny F. and Donny R. Sudmeyer Endowed Memorial Award at the University of Arkansas.
