10th Annual HeART for Art competitio­n winners announced

Winners have been announced for the 10th Annual Have a HeART for Art competitio­n, held March 2 at Emergent Arts.

Twenty-five public and private schools throughout Garland and Hot Spring counties participat­ed in creating an art piece utilizing a heart motif for competitio­n after classroom discussion of heart health. Each teacher determined the format, which could be 2-D, 3-D or multimedia.

The contest was sponsored by the Bartlett family, Simmons Bank and National Park Medical Center.

Winners are as follows:

Grand prize

• Laney Dixon, Fountain Lake Charter High School, 11th grade.

Second place

• Anna Klunke, Lake Hamilton High School,

11th grade.

Watercolor Award

• Grace Westerman, Fountain Lake Charter High School, 10th grade.

Chel Award

• Harln Estrada, Lake Hamilton Primary, first grade.

Middle Award

• Harper Horner, St. Luke’s Episcopal, first grade.

3-Dimensiona­l

• Lindsey Hawtorne-Twaite, Jessievill­e High School, 11th grade.

People’s Choice
