Lifelong Learning Institute Open House set for Friday

-

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Lifelong Learning Institute of Hot Springs Village welcomes all Villagers to a free Open House at the Citizens Police Academy Training Center, the old Fuel Stop at the corner of Balearic and Ponderosa, from 2-6 p.m. Friday. Free pizza will be served.

Lifelong Learning members will talk about upcoming events and share information on how other Villagers can join. A small sampling of upcoming events for members of the LLI include several financial planning seminars, an Arsenic and Old Lace

preview, ‘Tales from the Dark Corner,” VIP seating and special guest appearances at Opening Day for Arkansas Travelers baseball, Tech Day at Fountain Lake, Hot Springs Gallery Walks, and programs on emergency preparedness. Travel programs this spring will include a trip to historic Marlsgate Plantation in Scott, and to Little Rock for “A Tale of Two Capitols.”

According to LLI board member Larry Wilson in the press release, “We have a full line-up of programs that are both informative and entertaining. Here in the Village, there are many people who have moved here from someplace else and don’t know a lot about Arkansas. LLI programs are a great way to learn and appreciate our home even more, as well as meeting other interesting people like themselves.”

The Lifelong Learning Institute of Hot Springs Village has a partnership affiliation with Henderson State University to encourage Villagers to enrich their minds through customized community education programs.

Each program is directed by Villagers based on feedback from fellow Villagers. Enrichment opportunities include community education programs and scholarly travel in collaboration with the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association to provide fellowship and learning opportunities for accomplished adults.
