Helen Leigh Webb Poindexter of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away March 14, 2018, at Quapaw Nursing and Rehab at the age of 97.

Helen was born in Rudy, Ark., on Dec. 28, 1920, to the late Grover C. and Anna Grace Webb. She graduated from Coal Hill High School. Helen was married to Duval C. Poindexter for 57 years, until his death in 2001.

After Mr. Poindexter retired from the University of Arkansas extension service, they owned and operated Poindexter’s Landscape Center in Hot Springs.

Helen was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was on several committees though the years. She had also been a member of Criterion Club, Emblem Club and various bridge clubs.

She is survived by one brother, Joe Webb, of Richland, Wash.; and daughters, Tempa Jo Moore and husband Ronnie, of Hot Springs, and Anna Kim Black and husband Larry, of Stuttgart, Ark.

Her grandchild­ren are Stacey Terry Richardson and husband Lt. Col. Retired Charley Mack Richardson, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Tripp Terry, of Hot Springs, Kaitlin Black, of Clarendon, Ark., and Tyler Black and wife Laci of Jonesboro, Ark.

Helen’s great-grandchild­ren are Allie, Ethan and Lila Richardson, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Shana Leigh Terry, of Hot Springs, Ark.

A private memorial service is being held at a later date.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff and caregivers at Quapaw Nursing.
