Girls Circle is a gender-specific program for females ages 13-18, regardless of risk factor, designed to promote the development of courage, confidence, honesty, communication skills, and includes an evidence-based reproductive health component. Studies have revealed statistically significant improvement for girls in the program: increases in self-efficacy, attachment to school, positive body image, and social support, and decreases in self-harming behavior,

Young Men is a gender-specific program for males ages 13-18 designed to meet the core developmental need in boys for strong, positive relationships. It is a strengths-based approach to promote health development, addressing the physical, emotional and relational aspects of manhood. Studies have shown a significant increase in boys’ school adjustment and decreases in aggression rates, particularly in programs which are implemented in and or supported by schools. Active Parenting of Teens: Families in Action is an educational and interactive program that provides guidance and support to parents of tweens and teens, promoting communication/ relationship building, nonviolent discipline and risk prevention. This program has been listed in SAMHSA’s National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices, and in OJJDP’s Model Programs Guide. Parenting of 5- to 12-yearolds is an educational and interactive program for parents of children ages 5-12. Open Minds is a recovery support group for youths with substance abuse issues, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Facilitator is Angela Moses of Living Hope. SASG provides support to amputees through it ambassador program. It is a positive atmosphere to get or give answers to everyday questions. disease support group has been organized for patients, family members and caregivers affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Corticobasal Degeneration and Multiple System Atrophy. This group will meet from 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Alzheimer’s Arkansas Building, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, 501-2240021 or 800-689-6090. This is the only support group in Arkansas that is focused on these rare diseases. Those in the Hot Springs and surrounding area are encouraged to attend.
