Becky Brandt, 67, of Hot Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

A celebratio­n of her life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m.

Sheila R. Coffman

Sheila Renee Coffman, 43, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1974, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Marsha and Larry Coffman. A 1992 graduate of Lakeside High School, Sheila loved the outdoors and the water, vacationin­g and camping, but her greatest passion in life was her two daughters. Sheila was a rural carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.

She is preceded in death by her father, Larry Coffman; and grandparen­ts, Rosa and Woody Coffman, and Charlie and Lola Breshears, all of Hot Springs.

Survivors include her two daughters, Berkeley and Baylon Coffman; her mother, Marsha Coffman; her sister, Cheri (Joe) Farmer; nephew, Alex Farmer; niece, Lana Farmer, all of Hot Springs; her brother, Chris (Maria) Coffman; and nephews, Matthew and Landon Coffman, of O’Fallon, Ill.

A memorial service celebratin­g Sheila’s life will be 10 a.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale.

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Wayne Claude Kapple, age 81, of Hot Springs Village, passed away on March 19, 2018.

He was born on June 25, 1936, in Woodhull, Ill., to Claude Wesley and Florence Isabel Kapple.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hot Springs Village, Ark., with Father Bill Elser officiatin­g.

Lucy M. Lawson

Lucy Marie Lawson, 75 of Hot Springs, Ark., transition­ed on March 9, 2018, in Glenwood, Ark.

She was born Jan. 18, 1943, in Princeton, Ark., to Eugene Sr. and Bernice Lawson. Lucy was the fifth of six children. Lucy accepted Christ at an early age and was of the Baptist faith. After moving to Malvern, she attended A.A. Wilson. Lucy had a passion for singing. She met and married Fonzo Britton of Hot Springs, Ark., and to this union, one son was born, Terry Britton. Lucy later moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where she met and married John Harris, and to this union one son was born, Ryan Lyvelle Harris. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; brother, R.B. Lawson; sisters, Katherine Lawson, Bobbie Jean Evans and Goldene Lawson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Terry Britton and Ryan Harris; nine grandchild­ren: Myowne Teri Britton, Ryan Harris Jr., Quinn’ta Harris, Ian Westone, Kenishia Harris, Djimon Harris, Dejavelle Harris, Katlynn Harris and Mysheia Cleveland (Harris). Nine great-grandchild­ren; sister, Earnastine Parham; brother, Eugene Lawson Jr. (Vivian); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.

Visitation: from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in the Savannah Wright Johnson Memorial Chapel with the family present at 2 p.m.

Pauline Pennington

Pauline Pennington, age 90, of Hot Springs, died Monday, March 19, 2018.

She was born on Sept. 12,

1927, in New Mexico, the daughter of Orbie William Vaughn and Oda Jester Vaughn. On June

6, 1945, she married C.L. Carnish Pennington, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clyde Vaughn and Dewitt Vaughn; and three sisters, Myrtle Grant, Martha Brown and Linda Senn.

Pauline attended Malvern First Assembly of God and was a homemaker. She worked for many years alongside her husband in most of his profession­al ventures. She also worked for Curtis Mathes Television in Benton and National Rejectors in Hot Springs. Pauline always made sure that her children and family came first.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Vic and Reba Pennington; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dale Clem, all of Hot Springs; three grandchild­ren, Shannon Pennington, Chase and Jenni Clem, Cory Clem (Nikki Skrivanos); two great-grandchild­ren, Josh Brown and Jake Brown; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Mount Tabor Community Church, Glenwood, with the Rev. Jimmy Bobo officiatin­g.

Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearer­s will be Shannon Pennington, Chase Clem, Cory Clem, Troy Senn, Josh Brown and Jake Brown.

Carolyn J. Santana

Carolyn J. Santana, 48, of Hot Springs, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018.

She was born on July 26, 1969, in Hot Springs, to Michael and Linda Montgomery. She was a hot walker for Scotty Jones Racing Stables at Oaklawn Park.

Survivors include her husband, Sergio Santana; two sons, Benjamin Montgomery and Michael Paul Reyes; her mother, Linda Montgomery; her father, Michael Montgomery; one sister, Marcia Alvardo; one brother, Tony Montgomery; and a special uncle, Patrick E. Hawco.

Memorial service will be at noon Monday at the Backside Chapel at Oaklawn Park with Chaplain Robi Heffington officiatin­g.

Roberta C. Watkins

Roberta C. Watkins, 93, of Hot Springs, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.

She was born on Aug. 8, 1924, to the late Chester and Minnie Carpenter in Bismarck, Ark.

She was predecease­d by her husband, Preston A. Watkins.

Survivors include Sharon Watkins and Marsha and Steve Roper, Jean Lindsey, Christina and John Pennington and one great-grandson, Jacob Pennington and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Old Bismarck Cemetery with Brother Buddy Lemons officiatin­g.

Burial will be in Old Bismarck Cemetery in Bismarck, Ark.
