A new view of God

- Mary Robinson Hot Springs

Dear editor:

God is so great. We could put into a thimble what we know about Him compared to just how great He is!

Age brings about many changes, a great one being how, as we slow down and lose interest in the hubbub of younger folks’ interests and (necessary) activities, we get a new view of the workings of God.

I find myself, many times, thinking on the complexities of the human body. Just the eyes — what a miracle, the way our eyes operate with the different components, doing their assigned function, by the Almighty God.

Two legs, attached, balance, allowing us to move these miraculous bodies to do and go wherever our daily program requires.

Speaking, singing, communicating, eating, doing the millions of jobs going on in the earth today, none of which could transpire, but for the creation of man, by the Almighty God!

Do you ever think about the multiple, multiple times each day, each moment, that God puts into our path, or removes from our path, things for our good, for our protection, for the plan He has for us, or maybe for the discipline, as a good father, to lead us in the direction He wants us to go, mostly unnoticed by us or that we are totally unaware of? If we only knew, it would, I believe, give us an entirely new, and more appreciative, humbling view of the immeasurable love that our God has for us. He is mindful of every trial and every blessing in our lives. How hard it must have been for Him to see what His son, Jesus, suffered so that you and I could be free.

God is the head of all the Earth, all creation, all that has ever been or ever will be. Including our beloved America.

All that man has accomplished is only by the grace of God. He also has to have a sense of humor. As in those who refuse to acknowledge His existence, breathing His air!

My hope and prayer is that in the not far off future, God will once again be honored and welcomed in every inch of His beloved United States of America, every nook and cranny, and first and foremost, in every classroom in the land. Then progress on to our colleges and universities. It all belongs to Him and with God “all things are possible” John: 3-16, Psalm 139:14. Please join me in this prayer.

God bless America and all His creations.
