Blood drives scheduled throughout coming week

Arkansas Blood Institute will conduct blood drives at the following locations and times during the week:

• Monday — 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Bloodmobil­e at Mount Ida High School.

• Tuesday — 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Bloodmobil­e at Magnet Cove High School.

• Wednesday — 10 a.m. to

4:30 p.m., Ouachita Baptist University, Tiger Den, Arkadelphi­a.

• Thursday — 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Ouachita Baptist University, Tiger Den, Arkadelphi­a.

• Saturday — 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Bloodmobil­e at Amity Trade Days, 843 S. Mountain Road, Amity.

Donors will receive a T-shirt in one of three color choices with a challenge statement, learn their blood type, earn Reward Points, and receive a health screening and refreshmen­ts. Donors must be 16 years of age or older, feel healthy and have a photo ID. To schedule a donation, visit http://www.arkbi.org, click Donate Blood and find a drive, or call Bob Woodall at 501-282-6072. Walk-ins are always welcome. Donors can also donate platelets, 2RBC or whole blood at the donor center, located at 149 Section Line Road in Keystone Crossing Center, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. All donations support the two acute-care hospitals in Hot Springs and 42 others in Arkansas that use 330 units of blood per day. Donors may give whole blood every 56 days, 2RBC every 112 days and platelets weekly.
