FRIENDSHIP — Ella Branham Bosley, 82, of Friendship, passed away March 20, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Robert Chunn

MAGNET COVE — Robert “Bob” Chunn, of Magnet Cove, Ark., passed away March

28, 2018. He was born to Elton Chunn and Lois Phillips Chunn. He was a Naval Vietnam Veteran, and ran Bobs Country Market for 28 years with his wife and two sons.

After he closed the market he drove a truck for 10 years. Once retired, he loved spending time with his grandchild­ren and working in the garden. He loved to fish and farm, and enjoyed working on old trucks and tractors. He was a loving Dad and Grandpa and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded by his parents; wife, Diana Chunn; and brother, Jim Chunn.

Survivors include sons, Brad and Brian Chunn; daughters-inlaw, Hilary Herndon and Jennifer Chunn; four grandchild­ren, Parker, Natalee, Penelope and Lyndee “Lulu” Chunn; one brother, Steven Chunn; and sisters, Mary, Kathy and Betty.

Honorary pallbearer­s are VA Hospital, VFW, American Legion and Lifenet.

A Celebratio­n of his life will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3. This will take place at First Southern Baptist Church of Magnet Cove, 142 Magnet School Road, Malvern, AR,

MAGNET COVE — David Franklin Crow, 59, of Magnet Cove, passed Thursday, March 29, 2018.

Deborah S. Embry

Deborah Sue Embry, 66, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away March 29, 2018. She was born Feb. 18, 1952, in Hot Springs, to Buil and Alice (Trammel) Diggs. Deborah loved to hunt, fish, sew, garden and cook, and was an avid collector.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Gene Embry, of Hot Springs; sons, Matthew Embry (Samantha), of Hot Springs, Johnny Embry (Tina), of Camden; daughter, Tammy Carter (Roger), of Hot Springs; brothers, Larry Diggs, of Hot Springs, and Paul Diggs (Deanna), of Royal; sister, Barbara Malone (Mike), of Glenwood; grandchild­ren, Justin, Jena, Chase, Cole, Peyton, Ethan and Jordyn; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of Deborah’s life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mark Sikes officiatin­g.

Burial will follow at Lowe Cemetery. Pallbearer­s will be Matt Embry, Johnny Embry, Roger Carter, Josh Malone, Matt Crawford and Josh Belote.

Betty J. Evans

Betty Jo (Blees) Evans, 87, of Hot Springs, passed away March

30, 2018. She was born June 11,

1930, in Mountain Pine to Pete and Zettie (Johnson) Blees.

Betty graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1948 and was a “Jesus Name” Pentecosta­l. Betty worked as a part-time clerk in the Mountain Pine Post Office for 32 years. She retired January 27, 1989.

Betty married Ambress (Am) Evans on Feb. 11, 1965. Ambress passed away April 17, 1973.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Wanda Neal McGill; brothers, Melvin (Dorothy) Blees, Petie Blees and Terry “Pat” Blees; brothers-in-law, Bob Cannon and Ted Hall; two nephews; two nieces; and one godchild, Amber Rose Chandler.

Loving survivors include brothers, Larry Blees (Pat) and Michael Blees (Carol); sisters, Floy Cannon and Rozetta Hall; sister-in-law, Doris Blees; six nieces; and nine nephews.

A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.

Edward J. Hunt

HOUSTON, MISS. — Edward Jacob Hunt Sr., 77, passed away at Floy Dyer Manor in Houston on Saturday, March

31, 2018. He was born March 26,

1941, in Larue, Texas, to the late Wesley Hunt and Sarah Roberson Hunt.

He was self-employed in the constructi­on business. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his three daughters, Shannon Barkley (Travis), of Houston, Jeanie Tillery (John), of Poyen, Ark., and Michelle Hood, of Saltillo; one son, Edward Hunt Jr., of Poyen, Ark.; ten grandchild­ren; 14 great-grandchild­ren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Hardin Hunt; brother, Wesley “Junior” Hunt; three sisters, Sally Hale, Billie Madina and Lois Hunt; and grandson, Anthony Harmon.

Pallbearer­s will be Daniel Barkley, Nathan Harmon, Eddie Hunt, J.C. Lunsford, Clayton Watson and Jim Hood.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Hot Springs Funeral Home Chapel in Hot Springs, Ark.

Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Hot Springs. Memorial Funeral Home in Houston, Miss., is in charge of the arrangemen­ts.

Marian C. Ledgerwood

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Marian Carter Ledgerwood, age 95, of Hot Springs Village, died in her home on March 26,

2018. She was born in Muskogee, Okla., on January 21, 1923, the daughter of Von and Ella (Jones) Carter.

Marian married L.W. (Bill) Ledgerwood Jr., on July 21, 1946, in Muskogee, Okla. During their

69-year marriage, Marian and Bill lived in Tulsa, Okla., Talara, Peru, New Orleans, La., and Houston, Texas, finally moving to Hot Springs Village, Ark., in

1985.

They attended Barcelona Baptist Church where Marian played the piano and taught Sunday school. Marian was a member of the DAR and an avid genealogis­t.

She is survived by her brother, George W. Carter, of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Ruthe (Ledgerwood) Warren; son, L.W. (Roy) Ledgerwood III; five granddaugh­ters; two grandsons;

12 great-grandsons; and two great-granddaugh­ters.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Edith Carter, of Tulsa, Okla.; and brothers, Von Richard Carter, of Muskogee, Okla., and John Edward Carter of Columbia, S.C.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April

7, 2018, at Barcelona Baptist Church. Marian will be buried at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee, Okla.

James A. Miller

James Alva Miller, 77, formerly of Hot Springs, died Feb. 6, 2018, in his adopted state of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his son, James William Miller; his brother, H.E Pearcy; sister, Frances Laverne Landry; and nephew, Carl James Daigrepont.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Haston; grandchild­ren, Sara Holsworth, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Daniel James Haston, of Texas, Emily Eckard, of Little Rock, Ark., and April Miller-Goodknight, of Benton, Ark.; and great-grandchild­ren, Spencer, Morgan and Bryce. He is also survived by his wife, Priscilla Miller; four adult stepdaught­ers, nine stepgrandc­hildren; and two stepgreat-grandsons.

He will be missed by all.

Roy A. Pierson

Roy Allen Pierson, age 94, of Hot Springs, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.

He was born on August 28, 1923, in Joliet, Ill., the son of Roland Pierson and Emma Erikson Pierson. On July 22, 1951, he married the love of his life, Dolores Tiefel. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Theodore and Ralph Pierson.

Roy proudly served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, stationed in Panama. He was a member of First Presbyteri­an Church, Hot Springs.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dolores Pierson; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Sheryl Pierson, of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rick Perryman, of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; grandchild­ren, Alyssa Pierson Teague, Kelsey Pierson and Emily Perryman Reynolds; great-grandson, Oliver Reynolds; sister, Norma Pierson Allison; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at The Atrium at Serenity Pointe with the Rev. Lacy Sellars officiatin­g. A celebratio­n of life reception will follow.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of The Atrium at Serenity Pointe for their compassion­ate care.
