HSV Breakfast Lions have successful Chili Day
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The HSV Breakfast Lions had a successful 41st Chili Day and Silent Auction fundraiser. “Our hats are off to the Villagers, local workers, businessmen and women, and visitors who came to eat, listen to the Headin’ Home Band, painstakingly bid on silent auction items and bought raffle tickets. You kept the Lions and volunteers busy from 6 a.m. until well after 6 p.m. on March 10! The Coronado Community Center was filled with smiles, laughter, music, fun and lots of busy Lions and other volunteers,” stated the press release.
This year’s proceeds will help the Lions better serve the community locally, regionally and internationally. This was the club’s largest year for sales of bulk chili to take home.
The club’s priorities are vision, diabetes, Mid-South Sight and Hearing, Lions Eye Bank, and World Services for the Blind. Local projects include FOCUS, a support and training program for visually impaired; vision screening of children ages 2-5 using a state-of-the-art camera, volunteer work and scholarships for the Yorktown Camp for the Blind.
“We serve” is the motto and the public is welcome to help members meet the ever-increasing needs of the community.
If working with like-minded philanthropists is of interest, the HSV Breakfast Lions Club meets at 7:45 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the HSV Townhouse Association, 1 Perralena Lane. Call President Joanie Corry, 501-7629566, for information.
