Winford Jackson “Jack” Barfield, of Hot Springs, died March 30, 2018. He was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Pine Bluff, Ark., to William T. and Florence Atchison Barfield. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Robert T. Barfield, William D. Barfield and Wava B. Griffey; Lucy Jones, mother of his children; two sons, John David Barfield and Winford J. Barfield Jr; as well as granddaugh­ter, Rachel Elizabeth Tidwell.

He volunteere­d his time for over ten years to the Ronald McDonald House of Little Rock. He gave his time and talents to the Presbyteri­an Church for over 70 years, and then in his later years joined Haven United Methodist Church. He is a lifelong member of the Masonic Sahara Shrine Temple Lodge and has maintained membership for 67 years.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Virgie Yeager Barfield, of Hot Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Debra B. and Ray Hudson, of Little Rock; stepchildr­en, Terri and Aimone Pasqualin, of Miami, Fla., and Jody Esterline, of Sheridan; eight grandchild­ren, Jennifer, Phillip and David Tidwell, Johnna Barfield, Holly, Daniel and Hayden Esterline, and Luci Pasqualin; three great-grandchild­ren, Anne-Elise Tidwell, Marlee Tidwell and Jackson Tidwell.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Davis-Smith Funeral Home chapel, Hot Springs, with the Rev. Dr. Chester Jones officiatin­g.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today. Interment will be at held at 1:30 p.m. in Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock.

Pallbearer­s will be Phillip Tidwell, David Tidwell, Jody Esterline, Daniel Esterline, Hayden Esterline and Ray Hudson.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be Thomas Carpenter and the Rev. Ben Bateman.
