Prayers for officers
Dear editor:
In reading the article on State Trooper Kyle Sheldon, from Troop K of the Arkansas State Police, I was impressed with his ability to overcome a childhood filled with tragedies within his own personal life. I am very happy to know he overcame the burdens of his “real family life” and someone cared enough to show this man a proper family life. Unlike so many of today’s youth, he stood his ground to become a better person and to show compassion to others.
I wish to ask that we all pray for his well-being after being shot for doing his job. My prayers go out to our law enforcement officers for their bravery on our streets. Thanks to the city patrolmen who were available at the time Trooper Sheldon made his stop and I am assuming they were able to get medical care to him quickly and also apprehend the woman who shot Trooper Sheldon.
I sometimes forget that our law enforcement officials are daily putting their lives in harm’s way as they do their jobs. Reading these articles remind me that when I see these officers speeding past me on their way to what I think is an accident on the road, it just might be to help also another officer to live.
Thank you to our local, county and state policemen, I have a new respect for your courage and ability to do your jobs. And I shall place you all in my prayers. Thanks again, L.J. Gibson Hot Springs
