MOUNTAIN PINE — Larry Darnell Nevels Sr., 63, of Mountain Pine, Ark., was born May

12, 1954, in Arkadelphi­a, Ark., to the late Dodie Bailey-Nevels and Henderson “Scooter” Nevels.

Larry departed this earthly journey on Saturday, March 31,

2018.

His fondest memories will be cherished by: his loving wife of 38 years, Vera Jean Nevels, of Mountain Pine, Ark.; three daughters, Lucretia McCoy, of St. Louis, Mo., Melody Smith, of Mountain Pine, Ark., and April Nevels, of Hot Springs, Ark.; one son, Larry Darnell Nevels Jr., of Mountain Pine, Ark.; two brothers: Donnie Nevels, of Hot Springs, and Charles (Tina) Nevels, of Mountain Pine; five sisters: Mary Majors, of Little Rock, Ark., Connie Lacy (Johnny) and Gwendolyn Logan, both of Mountain Pine, Paula Jones (Johnny), of Hot Springs, Natalie Crossley (James), of Benton, Ark.; two brothers-in-law, Vance McElroy, of Houston, Texas, and Ricky McElroy, of Mountain Pine, Ark.; six sistersin-law, Sheryl Honey (Arthur), of Mountain Pine, Ark., Lera Delaney, of Mountain Pine, Ark., Angela Aumock (Paul), of Hot Springs, Latonya McElroy, of Mountain Pine, Virginia Lafond, of Hot Springs, Ark., Stacey Delaney (Lonnie), of Mountain Pine, Ark.; eight grandchild­ren and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be a celebratio­n of his life at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Mountain Pine School Auditorium. His earthly body will be laid to rest at Mountain Pine Cemetery.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Mountain Pine.
